The Midnight Isles are a group of islands that is cast far away from the current civilization. It is dab smack in the middle of the ocean with no other visible islands nearby. It is said that the Midnight Isles is blessed by the deities of the night. For this reason, night is longer in the isles with a few hours of daylight. Regardless of what season it may be, night is always longer.
There is a various collection of beings living within the island but they steer clear to anyone who tries to approach them. There may be instances where one would meet a few of them by accident and it will always go only two ways – a fight or flight. The isles have a long history of peace and its native inhabitants will want to keep it that way. However, due to our arrival, the equilibrium of peace and chaos is in the edge. It is up to us which path we may take and we hope it'll lead for the good of everyone.
There are four main islands in the Midnight Isles.
The smallest island is the Island of Night. It is an island bathed is moonlight and darkness. Unlike the others that have several good hours of daylight, it only has two hours of daylight, maybe three. There are some creatures that can be seen in this island but they are rarely seen.
There are two islands twice the size of the Island of Night, the Island of Winter and the Island of Lightning. Both islands enjoy a good six hours of daylight and the rest spend in moonlight and starlight. Due to their large size, the creatures are spread all around the island but encounter with them is more often than the smallest island.
The largest island is called Daylight. As the names suggest, it is bathed in daylight, like any other normal island. The day is split in two, with the sun and moon having equal shares of it. This island has the most blessed with the flora and fauna. They are spread widely within the island and most are tolerating of new presence more often than not. However, there are some here that are wild and barbaric, encounter with them should be avoided as much as possible.
The four islands are set apart from each other. One can go by boat but within each island, there is a temple that transports the individual to the island of their own choosing. Is was rumored that the temple in Daylight transports people to locations other than the Midnight Isles.
The Midnight Isles is currently occupied by someone/something known as "The Entity". It oversees what happens within the islands with the help of their Overseers.
