"Act cool, Winnie, you can do this," I encourage myself.
"Sup Nerdy Nathan," I swing the door open and mentally slap myself. So much for acting cool.
"I mean Nathan. Or Daniel," I quickly amend.
Today is my first tutoring session and my palms are sticky with sweat.
"Daniel's fine," he chuckles, "Hello Winnie."
Oh my god, he knows my name! He looks so hot standing there in ripped jeans and a black T-shirt that hugs his abs, his shaggy dark blonde hair has lighter natural highlights and he has a smirk on his sexy face as if he knows I'm checking him out. Wait what? I have an undenyable urge to roll my eyes. In my defense, as I said, just because I don't like him doesn't mean I don't have eyes.
"Are you going to invite me in or stand there looking like a stunned fish all day?"
"Right, it's Winter," I glare at him and step aside, feeling stupid.
"Nice outfit," his smirk grows.
He's referring to my sweat pants, tank top and messy bun that I hurriedly pulled my long, brown waves into a few minutes ago. Yeah, I'm more of a comfy clothes person.
"What can I say, gotta look good for Nerdy Nathan," I reply sarcastically.
"Doesn't everyone?" He jokes as he drops onto the blue couch, "Nice house by the way."
"Thanks," I mumble and take a seat on the other side.
"I don't bite," he laughs, "well maybe sometimes."
I don't offer him anything to eat or drink, he's here to tutor me not to have a feed.
He sighs and moves closer to me, "I need to be able to clearly see your work," he gestures to the piles of textbooks on the coffee table on front of us. I shift uncomfortably, not wanting to sit too close to him.
We start with English, I try to hear the words that come out of his mouth but I'm hypnotized by the mossy colour of his eyes, I notice they have little flecks of gold in them.
"Summer," he waves his calloused palms in my face, "are you listening?"
I blink.
"This is going to be harder than I thought," he mutters.
"Do you like chocolate?" I frown, "Because I do. I also like Connor's eyes, they're so dreamy and...." realisation kicks in, "crap, I said that out loud."
He smirks and I feel my face go red, "so you like Connor huh?"
I look away, embarrassed, "only as a friend."
"Well," he slides over and presses his leg against mine, "I can set you up with him if you want," he says, his mouth right by my ear.
My heart starts to erratically beat in my chest and butterflies dance in my stomach. Oh my god, why is Nerdy Nathan giving me butterflies? Calm yourself, Winnie.
"No thanks," I shrug, trying to pretend I'm not affected by him, "I told you, I don't like him like that." Or do I?
"In that case," he shifts back to his original spot, "how about we write some descriptive paragraphs about Connor and his dreamy eyes."

"So it went well?" My best friend, Jessica questions.
"Yeah, I guess. He's actually pretty helpful," I say while holding my phone to my ear and staring at the ceiling from my double bed.
"Maybe if you guys become friends I'll be able to get closer to Cole," she squeals.
"Ew, Jess. You can do way better than him." I honestly have no idea why she has a crush on him, he's so.... cold and distant.
"Whatever," I can practically see her rolling her hazel eyes, "you wouldn't understand."
"Why not?" I giggle.
"Because...... because you haven't really heard how sexy his voice is. How can you not just fall for those amazing eyes-"
"Amazing?" I interrupt, "they look so lifeless."
"You're crazy," she mutters.
"Says you!"
"Can you just try to get close to him so I can get a chance to talk to Cole?" She adds, "plleeeaaaassseee, I love you."
I sigh, "I'll have to see-"
"You're the best," she gushes, "anyways I gotta go. Laters."
I groan and roll off my bed. I honestly don't know why I'm friends with her, she's so annoying. We met in kindergarten when a bully pushed her down the slide and she fell into the puddle of mud at the bottom, I then pushed him down so he would meet the same fate. I have no regrets (well mostly none anyway).
Just as I'm about to go wash up in the bathroom my phone buzzes.
Tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays, alright Summer?
Nerdy Nathan.
Whatever Nerd. You know perfectly well it's Winter. Also, where'd you get my number?
A reply comes almost instantly -
From a magical person with dreamy eyes.
I roll my eyes, boys.
I hope you guys actually like this, please comment and let me know, don't stay silent :P
