Natalie came rushing through the door, her arms pressing a bunch of books against her chest. She grinned, probably excited about her new treasures.
"Did you talk to that guy yet?" She asked as she flopped down on her bed, her books falling on it as well. Her smile grew wider, looking down on Alicia who was sat on the floot in front of her.
Alicia sighed, hiding her face in her hands. "Almost, but then his friends showed up"
"I'm sure you'll talk to him eventually. It's only been a week," Natalie said, then quickly turned towards Sophie and Amelia. "Look at these!"
"Where did you find all these?" Sophie asked after Natalie had showed them each one, presenting them all like they were all small treasures. Which they probably were for Natalie, who used to say that every book was like a new lover to her.
"I found them at this awesome bookstore just outside campus. They have a lot of great stuff there. I bet you'll find something you like as well. Maybe you'll find a book about how to talk to guys Alicia"
Alicia snorted, crossing her arms. "I'll talk to him tomorrow, alright!"
"Yeah, sure" Amelia laughed, glancing over at the two other girls.
Sophie, getting tired of all the nagging, stood up, asking if Amelia would join her at the gym. Amelia, who was obviously shocked by the offer, agreed and the two of them headed out the door.
As soon as the door closed behind them Natalie stood up, grabbing her notebook of her nightstand in the process. Alicia shrunk back, knowing what the look on her friends face meant. "What now?"
"I really want you to get to know this guy," she said, but hesitated and then corrected herself. "Well, I want you to talk to him at least"
"Ok?" Alicia was a bit unsure where this was going, but knowing it probably would be fun she went with it.
"We need to find some topics you can discuss with him. Something that'll make him interested and want to talk to you" Natalie wiggled her eyes and flipped her notebook open, grabbed a pen and looked at Alicia expectantly.
"What? You want me to come up with ideas?"
Natalie simply nodded.
"Alright. What about the weather? It's been rather nice out lately" Alicia suggested, but then jumped what felt like a mile in the air when Natalie shrieked at her. She could almost feel the floor vibrating by the vicious sound.
"No! That's terrible" Natalie threw her arms out in defeat. "Ask him what his major is, or where he's from. If you talk about the weather he'll just think you want to make small talk"
"But I want to make small talk" Alicia hesitated, unsure where Natalie was coming from.
"No, you don't"
"I don't?"
Natalie shook her head. "No, you want to get to know the guy. You want to get to the deep level. You want to feel him, ya feel?"
"So I just walk up to him and ask about his major?" Alicia asked.
"Sort of"
"Sort of?"
Natalie sighed, then walked to the middle of the room. "I'll be the guy and then we'll act it out. What's his name?"
"I don't know"
"You don't even know his name?" Natalie shrieked, throwing her arms in to the air.
"I haven't talked to him. I can't know his name if I haven't talked to him" Alicia said, rolling her eyes by the way Natalie was acting.
