The sweat was dripping off me like spring rain; warm, yet heavy. I may be 19 now but for some strange reason, i've started to miss school. I suppose i miss the company rather than the learning part of it, but step by step i've been making my plans to be a teacher there. I don't think i will ever make it though because i didn't stay in college long enough. You see, i may of got kicked after my science experiment with a hamster kinda may of started a fire at my school, but my mum saw me as a hero because i saved the hamster. Mind you she has to say that really because other wise she wouldn't be a mum.
I flicked off my converse shoes which smashed against the wall, then peeled off to leave a yellow grease mark in the shape of my shoe against the wall. I simply shrugged my shoulders in responce, but i would have to clean it up later, it is just that at this time i couldn't care less. I peeled of the tinfoil that was 'surgiclly attatched' to my shoulders, only to feel my hair then take the position of the tinfoil. My hair had clung to me with sweat acting as glue, it's normal red glow had adapted in what resembled my mum's stew. My lips were chaped from dehydration, my skin ached to be cleaned. My legs worked quicker than my brain it seemed as i was walking towards the shower before i even thought too.
My feet clung to the beige carpet of the stairs, then peeled off once more, i let me finger tips trace round the curving banister. I stepped on to the icy cold tiles of the bathroom, they cracked in their age. Once i had gotten into the shower i looked through the glass of shower to look around. Although the house was old, the bathroom was still in OK condition. There was dirt in the sink, the tiles weren't the strongest and there was dust collecting in the corner but if we cleaned it then the place would look amazing.
As i closed the lid of the shampoo, i remembered i had forgot to lock the door but i excused this worry immediatly since i knew no-one was in. The water treacling down my body felt amazing and you could see the water start from a brown fluid from all the mud in my hair, to a trasperant goo, all the way untill it looked just like water again. I turned off the shower then opened the window a crack to get rid off the condensation. I grapped the pink floresent towel (my mum's choice) and dried my self off , i wrapped myself in the soft fluff then started the journey to my bedroom to grab a some clothes.
I grabbed hold of the handle then shouldered into the door, it opened just enough for me to squeeze through. I grabbed what ever came to my hand which was a really nice black dress with a brown belt still attached to it, the belt had a large leather buckle attatched onto it and the dress had one small strip of sleeve on the left arm then a 3 1/4 length sleeve on the right just reveilling my shoulder. I slipped it over my head then rubbed my hair between the towel then walked other to my full lengthed mirror.
My hair had it's usual gloss once again, a deep red that fell upon my glowing tanned skin. My nails looked pedecured but i've never even seen a nail parlor in my life. My hair curled to one side of my face with plenty of volume to it. My dark eyes stared deep in to my reflection, and my reflection stared back.
'Coral? Are you in? Your sister just called to say that she's going swimming tonight'
I slowly turned away from my reflection then scrambled out of my room.
'Yeah i'm in, em....what? Sorry?' My mind went blank, then i got a grip.'Oh wasn't she meant to be practicing for her maths test tommorow?' I heard my mum mutter something but then she continued.
'Yeah, well it won't hurt to have a break.'
In reality, my sister, Holly, hadn't done any revising all week, she seemed to suddemly want to swim all the time, i never understand it, but who am i too blame? One minute i hate school next minute i love it.
'How was the cross country, was it fun? Anybody you know there?'
I could hear my mum shuffling about down stairs so i thought i'd might as well go speak to her properly rather than shouting from upstairs. After i hurried downstairs, nearly tripping AOT, twice, i came face to face with my mum in the kitchen. Even though the kitchen was most certainly most stunning place in this town, it would not beat my mum's beauty. She was thin, but not stupidly thin, with gorgeous locks of black hair, her skin was flawless and she had the same luck with nails as i did.
I twirled round the marble island in the kitchen, just gently strocking it as i walked round it, with my eyes fixed on this one mark on the table. It must have been glue from where my sister had been doing her science project on it yesterday. I was now at the tall, 1920's fridge. I opened it to see the treasures inside, i saw a half eaten chocolate bar and i reached for it.
'Yeah it was good, i was hoping to see some little kids from the school there but i didn't see any-one, but that doesn't matter because i was 20th out of 50 people which isn't bad for me.' First that was a lie, i came 50th and second, i only went to see the little kids so i kinda did care. I peeled the chocolate wrapper off and swirled round to eat in the living room, only to be stopped.
'Em, now where do you think you going?' My mum stopped what she was doing which turned out to be chopping a tomatoe, and turned round to look at me. 'If you think i'm going to let you eat chocolate now then you' ve got anouther thing comming, tea will be ready in half an hour' she turned back to continue chopping and i thought she couldn't see me, so i went in for a little bite of the dairy milk bar.
'Put it back.' My mum's voice stern but graceful.
'Mum, i love you and all but you make such a big deal about eating chocolate-'
I traced my steps back to the fridge to put it away before continueing.
'Plus it's half an hour before tea, i'm hungry now.'
I watched my mum turn around, leaving the knife on the chopping board, but she might as well of been holding it straight at me since her words were as sharp as it.
'Watch your lip young lady'
'Fine, i'm sorry' i lied just to keep the peace, she then continued her chopping.
'Are you just going to stand there gorping all day? Or help me?'
'I'll help'
I grabbed some bowls before turning to my mum.
'What is for tea?'
'Pizza.' My mum managed to sound cheery once again, thank God.
'Should i make the dough then?' I murmered, just loud enough to be heard.
'Yeah, em that would be great but would you mind if i asked you something?'
'Sure...' I spoke with uncertainty.
'I've heard you've been seeing a boy?'
There is some things i just can't tell my mum and that was one of them, my dad knew because i knew he wouldn't do '20 questions' but mum certainly would. It was true that i had been seeing a boy named Luke, he had sandy hair and blue eyes, girls would find him perfect, but to me, he was more of a substitute. My ex-boyfriend got involved in one of my bullying situations, and they were bad bullys, i used to get punched at shot at in the arm. I would of phoned the police but if i did they threatened to kill my whole family. So i got the next best thing. My boyfriend, Mike. He was perfect for me, whispy brown hair with deep brown eyes, he cared about me unlike Luke. Any way, my dream boy killed the bullys but the gun was fired at the same time, he died too.
So now i'm with luke who is handaome but lacks sensativity. He only cares about himself but i needed to prove that i am over my ex-boyfriend, so he had to do for now. So should i lie to my mum? There would be no point since my dad would tell her any way at some point and it would be better comming for me, so i sighed then decided to tell the truth.
'Em yeah, but i am completly over Mike, i know i'm ready!'
'It's only been two weeks!' I saw my mum's eyes widen and she was right to worry.
'Mum you worry to much.'
'Well i think i should worry if i know that your heart could be broken!'
'Luke would never break my heart!' Although i wasn't certain of this.
'What would your father say if he knew about this!'my mother mumbled.I looked down sheepishly in responce.
'Oh he doesn't know does he?! How could he let it continue?' My mother was almost speaking to herself now.
'Mum, i need to go soon i em, i'm kinda being takien to see him tonight.'
'Well i'm taking you!' My mum spoke defencivly as she grabbed her hand bag but i stopped her from going any further.
'Mum, dad's taking me, just relax.'
My mum went to say something but i heard my dad's voice bouncing across the walls so i ran toward's it.
'Hey dad! Shall we go? great!'
I almost hauled him over to the car but i couldn't help but feel bad for my mum, and that guilt built up even further on the journey. After all she was only caring for me.
'What happened there? You seemed in a rush and if i remember corectly, we're an whole hour early.' My dad said that but it sounded like he already knew.
'I told mum.' I said as simply as i could.
'What about luke?'
'Yeah.'
I turned away to look outside the window, i saw the one flickering street lamp that worked go pass, this place was a real dump. They had given up on bins, they let the shops run down, the only place with some life was the library and even that was half tumbled down. The car went quite, the only sound was from the radio softly playing 'firework' by Katy Perry in the background. I knew my dad was glancing over at me, but i ignored him, at least until the clock on the radio turned to 19:36.
'Dad? Do you think it's too early to be dating again?'
'If you think you're ready then, you are.'
'I just don't know if i'm doing it though because i-' i didn't even know where i was going with this but my dad seemed to understand. He slapped me knee gently then held it there for a minute then let go again, i could see he was confused on what to do.
'I know what you mea- is that-'
my dad looked closer to the windsheild. I looked to see what he was looking at and there was a bright red lorry there. I knew this was not the important part but as i looked closer it looked like my sister was the driver, except she had burning bright red eyes. Infact it looked axactly like my sister, so alike it startled me because i knew my sister couldn't drive, she was only 14!
'Is that Holly?' My dad finally splurted out.
All of a sudden this lorry drove rigt into us, my dad went to swurve but this lorry kept driving into pressing us against the greenery by the road. It crushed me. I could hear my bones beginning to crack and i watched the blood fall out. The last thing i saw was my blood forming into me but with red eyes, but just before i shut my eyes my dad screamed my name and this thing walked into me.
