Rainy Days

It was like 4 in the Morning and Nell and Eric stormed out of the building in which they just ended a hard case. The sky was dark and filled with clouds that looked like they were going to announce the end of the world.
The, from working tried Nell leaned slightly into Eric who put an arm around his best friend so she wouldn't fall over. Together they walked down the streets.
It was such an dump idea to not take the car in the morning just because they wanted to 'stay fit'. Anyways the air smelled like rain and unsurprisingly, it suddenly started to rain. At first it were just teeny tiny rain drops but within 5 minutes it was a flood of water falling down on the pair.
As quickly as they could they ran to find a place to safe themselves from the heavy rain. And they found a little space, between two houses, with a light and just enough place for them to stand in front of each other. The light was dim and probably very old.
Nell opened her eyes tiredly. She started tackling nonsense like why they're showering with clothes and that clearly means that she was extremely tired. Eric had to steady her with his hands on her shoulders so she wouldn't fall over.
"Nell, we're outside and it's raining"
"huh?"
She looked around in the dark and then nodded slowly.
Red, wet hair fell into her eyes and Eric softly stroke it back on its place resting his and on her cheek. Drunk of tiredness, Nell giggled and leaned into Eric's warm hand on her wet face. He smiled softly in response.
Suddenly Eric hat a flashback from the case and remembered how they all could have died, especially Nell. Softly he put his other hand on her other cheek and held her softly while she was looking tiredly into his eyes. Eric realized again how much she meant him, the world. His warm hands pulled her softly closer to him that her face was directly under his. Eric couldn't help but stare at Nells beautiful hazel eyes and her perfect soft lips.
"you know how pretty you are, right Rockstar?"
We can't deny but say that he was as tired as she was.
"since when are you so romantic?"
Nell giggled and balanced herself on tiptoes to be closer to Eric's face.
Erics face, that still was pretty wet, slightly turned red. His glasses slidly slid of his nose, but before they could fall Nell pushed them with her hands back in the right position and then softly rested her hand on his shoulder.
If they weren't that tiered they probably would have notice how close their lips were and already would have moved.
But they weren't.
Eric smiled and his eyes wandered from her beautiful ones to her red lips, where the lipstick was already washed of. He rubbed them softly with his right thumb. If he wouldn't kiss her now he never would, also he was to tired to properly think so he closed the small gap between their red lips and they slowly started to move their mouth against each other. Their kiss was so soft and carefully like they didn't want to hurt the other with it.
Trying not to fall over Nell slung her arms around her glassed friend.
After a few minutes Nell's movement became slower and her grip loosened. Eric carefully parted his lips from hers, even of he clearly didn't want to, but his partner was in the middle of falling asleep while kissing in the rain. Not exactly but whatever.
"Nell. Nell!"
He shook her a little bit and she was more awake again, lightly blushing.
"the rains getting thinner now is our chance."

After Nell almost fell because she fell asleep while walking, Eric carried her bridle style while her head rested on his broad shoulder.

It took about 15 minutes through the rain until Eric reached his apartment and opened the door carefully to not wake up the sleeping girl in his arms.
He carried her to his bedroom and kicked of his shoes and hen pulled Nell's of. He laid down next to her and pulled up the cover up and quickly fell asleep, cuddled to his partner Nell.
