As I pull up into my favorite little coffee shop on Lina Mountain. Walking up the twisting stairs that lead to my get away place. I get to the top and stop for a second taking in a deep breath and opening the door the sound of a bell and the smell of coffee brings me in. Walking to the back of the coffee shop and looking at the books they have running my fingers against the edges of the books that have been here for who knows how long. Grabbing a poetry book and walking to a table closest to a window setting my book down and ordering my coffee. I sit back down and start reading my book. The first quote drawing me back a little and making me think what was the writer feeling as they wrote this.
Sleep
It's a drug
Even the most sensible teenager
Can grow addicted toThe moment you close your eyes
The living nightmares
The anxiety
The stress
The problems
Are gone, they vanish
When your pretty little eyes closeFeelings you so hopefully didn't want
You no longer have to feelBut you abuse it so much
You use it as an escapeSo you became tired all the time
Not because of lack of sleepYour just used to being numb and blank

But the sound of a bell ringing pulls me out of my thoughts and it's the sound of someone coming in. Odd I thought when I'm here for 3-4 hours not even one person comes in while I'm there. Confused I look to see who it is, it's a short girl with long brown hair that touches the middle of her back she had curves yet she was skinny in the same way she seemed beautiful from what I could see but it seemed familiar to familiar. She turned around I realize it's Naomi. She sits at the table infront of me with her headphones in tapping her fingers to the song she was listening to I go to say something but I'm cut off by my coffee order being called off. I stand up from the table and grab my coffee making my way back to my table glancing at Naomi trying to get her attention. She looks at me for a split second before looking back at the book she's reading. I shrug it off and head back to my table. She probably didn't wanna talk but I can't lie I didn't feel like it either.
I finish my coffee and check the time reading 8:37 pm seeing as its getting late I grab my stuff and put the book back away leaving the little coffee shop. Walking to the parking lot I hear someone call my name stopping and l turn around it's Naomi jogging towards me.
"Oh hey Naomi." I said turning around to face her.
"Hey it's just you forgot these. They were just sitting on the table." She said handing me my car keys.
"Oh thanks." I grab the car keys and look around the parking lot only seeing my car confused I ask her "Where's your car?"
"Oh I walked here I decided it would be better to clear my mind going on a walk then driving."
"Oh well. I can give you a ride back if you need one."
"No it's fine I plan on staying longer "I'll just call my dad and have him pick me up later."
"Okay well text me when you get home. Ok?"
"Ok Micah."
"Bye." I said waving towards Naomi and walking to my car. I got in and plugged my phone into the aux, playing music to drowned out everything that's happened today.
