America

America

The land of the free

The lights shining bright

How great are thee

We have deduced a syllogism

Of the so called land of the free

A hallucination

Something like a dream

Our brothers

and sisters

Have come to shine light

On the execrable ways

refugees

Are treated

In the dead of night

They are beat

And tormented

In the shadows of a

Great bird taking flight

Hiding in the culverts

Away from the light

When the eagle cries out

Their fear takes new heights

Their rags hiding scars

As they quiver in fear

Of the great golden talons

That are oh so near

The pacifists of America

Have been long gone

War is a symbol

That this country holds strong

The gist of America

Is not what It seems

As great golden wings cage in

Lost hopes and dreams
