She slips on the shirt he left her before getting under the covers. Like clockwork, her phone rings and his face fills the screen. Her chest tightens. He's only been gone for three days and she already misses him with an intensity that still surprises her. She starts updating him about their mock wedding.
"O, ba't parang malungkot ka?" he suddenly asks.
Her voice wobbles. "Miss na kita."
The way his gaze moves over her face tells her he misses her just as much. "One more day, mahal. Just one more day and I'm home."
