Chapter 6

At school, it's been one week since Gilbert and Jasper got to know one another. On the first day Jasper showed Gilbert a tour around the school. At first he wanted to protest, but the teacher kinda forced him to do it.

Dumb teachers....

While the two were sight seeing around the school, Jasper's friends watched them from a distance.

Chloe: The two seem to be getting along.

Oliver: Seems like it. So...Gilbert Waters huh?

Julie: Transfer student from a another country. According to rumors, he's kinda well-known here. He's a prodigy in soccer. A member of the track team and is a proffesional boxer. The kid's a legend.

Oliver: Super-Athlete...Damn...

Kenny:.....

Julie: Kenny...You okay?

Kenny: Yeah...

Nina: So you notice huh?

Kenny: Huh?

Nina: New guy here has a crush on Jasper. Your best friend~!

Kenny scoffed while Nina smiled knowlingly. The other members of their group just stared in shock.

Julie: W-What? He's gay for Jasper?! Wow...

Chloe: I didn't even know new guy was gay...

Nina: You guys didn't know. The reason why Gilbert chose Jasper is because they like each other. I can see it in their eyes.

Chloe: OMG!

Oliver: Wow.....No wonder...It was obvious.

They then looked at Kenny.

Oliver: Your not mad are you Kenny?

Kenny:....Why would I be?

Jasper and Gilbert then came back.

Jasper: Hey guys, I'm just showing Gilbert around the school more so he won't get lost.

Kenny: Oh...Hey Jasper...Can I talk to Gilbert for a minute?

Jasper: Uh...Okay?

The two boys walked away from the others and walked towards an open space where no one's around.

Gilbert: So...Umm...What you wanted to talk about?

Kenny stayed silent for a moment until he looked up at the taller male.

Kenny: So. Gilbert...How long had you known Jasper?

Gilbert: Oh well...We just met a week ago...On the first day when I got here. We accidently bumped into each other.

Kenny: Hmm...What do you think about him?

Gilbert: Well, he's nice. A bit rude...But kind and caring. I also learn that he's a youtuber. So despite being called a goth by some others, he's a cool little guy to hang around with. Why do you ask?

Kenny: Because I'm hoping you can do a favor for me.

Gilbert: Huh?

Kenny: Please...Take good care of Jasper. He may not show it but he's in some deep shit right now that he doesn't want to tell anybody including me...His best friend. I'm pretty sure the reason why he won't tell us because we'll be more worried about him.

Gilbert: Why? Is he in trouble...

Kenny made a sigh. He knows Jasper going to hate him for this later.

Kenny: You see...Jasper's life...Isn't so well as it looks like. His parents died when he was young and his older brother Sam mysteriously died as well two years ago. No one knows how he died but police brushed it off as suicide.

Gilbert:.....

Kenny: Also. His adoptive family...
Well...When I met them, they were the worse family I have ever met. They are very mean people and I'm worried for Jasper's sake because before you showed up. Jasper came to school looking beaten up like he got into a fight and loss. A week before that, he had a bruise on his arm and he brushed it off saying it's nothing. It's a possible chance he's being abused at home.

Gilbert couldn't believed what he was hearing. Jasper...Abused?

Gilbert: ...So...Your asking me? Why?

Kenny put on a small smile.

Kenny: Because I trust you. Also because I also see the way you look at my best friend. At first, I didn't trust you...But after learning much about you. I do now.

Gilbert: H-How do you?!

Kenny: I'm a good observer. Our friend Nina is too. I understand that you have feelings for him. That's why I'm entrusting this quest to you.

Gilbert had a small blush on his face.

Kenny: So please. I wish I could something, but I'm helpless to do anything...the others...their powerless too...as his friend, I'm begging you...please help him...

Gilbert: Okay.

Kenny: But...remember...Jasper is my best friend and he's like a brother to me.
So you better take good care of him. Alright?

Gilbert made a small smile at Kenny as he nods at him.

Gilbert: Don't worry, I will!
