Chapter One
"Another day of fame and I think I might explode," I say.
Everyone in the van stops what they're doing to stare at me. " Niall, it really isn't that bad," says Liam from the passenger seat, as he pulls his phone out of his pocket. Louis, who was seated next to me, smirks at Harry and I immediately regret sitting in between these two.
"Yes it is. Don't you hate the fact that we can't go anywhere without loads of men, with cameras, chasing after us. I feel trapped and I've had enough." I say but when I look up, no one is paying attention. Harry was staring at his phone, Louis was staring out the window, Liam was listening to his iPod and Zayn was half asleep in the back seat of the van. The only person who was paying any attention to me was Paul, while he drove.
"Well mate, this is what you auditioned for. " he says with absolutely no hint of sympathy in his voice. " Yeah, three years ago," I say under my breath, loud enough for only myself to hear.
Paul makes a left onto a busy street. I take in the scenery and admire the bright lights, the piles of snow shoveled onto the sides of the street and the amount of people walking on the sidewalks. I couldn't help but think that no other place in the world that I've been to, looks as glamorous as New York City.
"This is New York City." , says Louis as he continues to stare out the window.
" And this is New Yorks' Magazine branch," says Paul. He pulls up to the curb in front of this tall skyscraper.
As I get out of the car, I look around at all the fans standing on the sides of the entrance, calling our names and I do what I'm suppose to do, smile. Harry walks by me and begins signing autographs for fans. The group of girls he walks up to, immediately start screaming and crying. I watch as Harry does his best to calm them down. He hugs them through the barriers and rubs this one girls back.
I look back towards the car ,behind me where the other boys are standing. Louis looks nervous, as usual and Liam just stood there waving at the massive crowd. I walked over to Louis and rested my hand on his back. " What? Finally sick of fame?" I say with a hint of sarcasm. He looks up at me and laughs. "Never. Unlike you, I appreciate all these people." He walks away, towards Harry. " I appreciate these people!" I scream out at him and he just laughs as he signs autographs. Liam follows behind Louis and flashes me one of his phony smiles.
I stormed into the entrance of the building , leading me to a wall with elevators, leaving behind all the screaming fans yelling my name. To my right, was a hall with a bench at the end. I walked up to the bench and took a seat. I waited for 5 minutes until the boys came rushing in, with a very alert looking Paul.
"Nice of you lads to finally join me," I say as I walk back to the elevators, towards them. " Niall, just stop." says Harry as he presses the elevator button going up. ' I haven't done anything," I remind him when the elevator arrives and we all pile in. I press the button labeled 34 and watch as the elevator closes and we go up a few floors.
" You could have alt least stopped for a second to talk to a few fans. That's all they want.", says Zayn from one side of the elevator. I couldn't see him, thanks to Pauls thick frame so I could only hear his voice. I had forgotten that Zayn was here considering that he was asleep for most of the car ride here. " But what about what I want. Doesn't that matter?", I ask and once again I'm left to face the silence. No one answers or even bothers to look at me. We just rode the elevator to the thirty second floor in silence.
