Chapter Three
Nialls POV
I couldn't find the words to express how I felt so I just sat there silent. I wasn't sure if I was angry or excited. My mind couldn't handle this. I closed my eyes to think.
It seemed as though I wasn't the only person mute in this park. The entire park had die down and it was kind of nerve racking. I opened my eyes to the sound of three girls screaming at the top of their lungs.
"Oh my gosh! IT REALLY IS NIALL. JESSICA YOU WERE RIGHT AH!"
As they approached us, I began to feel nauseous. I wasn't exactly in the right mental state at the moment to sign autographs for our fans. I looked over at Cara who was just as frazzled as I was.
"We need to go." she says, pulling on my shoulder.
"Yeah I know. But where? We are in a very wide, open spaced public park in case you haven't noticed."
"I've noticed. Do you see that trail over there?" she says, pointing to this cement path behind us.
"Yess?" I say.
"If we can get over there and down that path we will be okay. There is a cafe that some friends of mine own and I'm sure they wouldn't mind closing early for us."
At the far end of the park, closest to the street , we see a group of about 10 girls running towards us. I always hated this part of the deal. I like being famous and touring and singing to people all over the world but I don't exactly like being harassed every time I go outside.
Cara grabs my arm and pulls me towards the path. We start running but we could hear the footsteps behind us like a stampede. It was a stampede, a stampede of hormonal teenage girls and their mothers. Once we were on the path, you could see the big flashing sign for the cafe at the end of it. Towards the end it sounded like the footsteps were getting closer so we sprinted the last 2m, stopping right in front of the cafe. Cara shoves me inside and locks the door.
"Cara honey, is that you?" This older lady walks towards us with her arms out, ready to embrace us.
"Hi Mrs Humphrey. This is Niall." I wave at her." he's in a boy-band and we are kind of being hunted down by his fans. Could we stay here until everything dies down?" she asks.
"Of course honey. You know I'd do anything for you." she says. "Make yourself comfortable, I'll bring you some tea."
We sit down at this booth, close to a window so that we could monitor the fans. Most of them had given up when they reached the end of the path and couldn't find us. However, a few are mingling just outside.
As soon Mrs Humphrey is no longer in earshot, my paranoid side takes over.
"So should I be worried that this lady could be my aunt or something? I mean, you seem to know more about my life than I do! So who is that lady?" I ask.
She looks down at her lap and her cheeks turn a light shade of red. I hadn't noticed before but her eyes are kind of nice.
"She is my ex boyfriends mother." she responds.
I did not see that coming.
"Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't .. I should've..wow."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I could fill the tension in the room building up.
"I just didn't think you were the 'ex boyfriend type'. You seem like you're one of those girls that date a guy for like 300000 years and then marry him."
