(3rd person new perspective, after the events of "Revenge" ending)
"Okay, I got a story," an 18-year-old girl stated to her group of friends.
The five of them were currently sitting on a bench outside of a gated area. It was close to midnight. They were taking turns telling stories of paranormal experiences.
"What is it?" one of two guys asked, rolling his eyes.
The girl smiled, "This graveyard is said to be haunted by a demon!"
"What do you mean, Beth?" another girl, who looked a little younger, asked.
"You guys have heard about those demon dog sightings, right?" Beth asked, looking around at her friends.
They all nodded. "Yeah, they're all over the place," the other boy exclaimed while leaning against the gate, "from Canada to Cuba and everything inbetween!"
"Anyway, so a demon like them is said to guard THIS graveyard!" Beth emphasized, "It's said to kill anyone who trespasses!"
"Oh, really?" the first boy said.
"Yes, Kevin, really," Beth replied to his sarcasm, "I've actually researched this. Remember that big fire in the Apalachin Mountains about six years ago that burned a big section of woods?"
"Not really, I was like ten."
"Shut up, Kevin," Beth hissed, "As I was saying, rumors have it that that was hell's gate opening, releasing all these demon dogs. All these sightings started not long after that fire! The guardian of this graveyard is said to be a demon that guards the soul of those lives that were lost in fire, whose remains where buried right here."
"Hah, yeah right."
Beth was fed up at this point, "Oh, yeah, how would you know? There have been three reported deaths and 1 missing!"
"I'll prove that this is complete and utter bull crap." Kevin turned to the gate and put his foot up on it.
Everyone was astonished as Kevin started rapidly climbing the gate.
"Kevin!"
"What the hell are you doing?"
"You're going to get us in trouble."
"Relax, guys," Kevin reached the top, "I'm just going to walk to the edge of the graveyard and back to prove to you, Beth, that there is no demon."
He jumped down on the other side, and started walking into the dark of the gloomy graveyard. His friends told him to come back but he continued on, he was determined to prove Beth wrong. Maybe it would impress Julie, the younger girl, whom he had a crush on.Kevin walked confidently forward until the gate was far behind. I didn't realize how big this place is, he thought.
A few minutes passed, and Kevin swore he was starting to see things, shadows moving out of the corner of his eye. Maybe I should turn back, he thought, I must be close to the back anyway.
A cold breeze blew around him, making him shiver. He had an uneasy feeling that he was being watched, when suddenly,
"Get out." a low voice commanded.
Kevin froze. The voice seemed to come from all around him.
"Little human..."
The now terrified teenager watched in horror as an over eight-foot creature manifested in front of him. It had big hooked feet, large deadly claws, and long wild hair. What made him pee his pants, was the monster's empty, glowing white eyes. Those eyes looked down on him with a quiet anger and deep grief.
"You almost look like him, my little human," the monster mumbled gruffly, "I dont't want to kill you, so I'll say it one more time. Get. Out."
Kevin trembled, taking a few steps backward. The monster's eyes alighted with a new fire, as it roared, "OUT!"
The boy stumbled over his feet, and bolted back the way he came. The cold wind picked up again, and he could feel the presence of the monster still looming over him!
It spoke into his ear as he ran, "Tell all who try to enter that if you ever come to disturb me again, I will kill every human I see. Now human, RUN!"
It growled in his ear one last time as Kevin practically flew over the gate, and tumbled to the other side. His friends gathered around the paniced boy as he scrambled to get as far awar as possible.Soon, the others were chasing him down the street and out of sight. The monster slinked back into the shadows, gliding in the pitch blackness of the night. It stopped above three particular gravestones, kneeling in front of them. The first two were of a couple that had died the same day. Next to them, was a smaller stone that read:
