I awoke from a half-slept sleep with a major smile smothering my face. I hadn't felt so refreshed in a long while, although the smeared makeup was still dried upon my skin and my body wasn't the cleanest, there was somethinf that had made me feel vibrant and glowing.
I jumped out of bed and separated my curtains to see what kind of day sat before me. Crashing of rain soon began to fall onto the ground. I thought to myself, 'just because the weather is miserable, doesn't mean I have to be.'
I made my way into the shower to clense and feel that little extra refreshed. Once I had finished with the hot water patting against my skin, I dried myself and changed into a comfortable pair of black shorts and a big T-shirt my body could hide under.
"Mum? Are you home?" I called as I made my way down the stairs, heading for the kitchen to make myself a nice cup of morning tea."In here honey!"
The kitchen was lit warmly as through the window the day remained as dull as ever; grey clouds, black clouds, smashing rain onto the pathway in the back garden. I sighed at the thought of the season was changing - but letting it get me down was pointless.
My mum lent on the kitchen side with her glasses kneeling on her nose as she scrolled on her computer, tapping away at keys here and there - she definitely looked fixated at something."What happened with you and Aimee, hon?" My mum asked, eyes still attached to the laptop before her.
I sighed once more at the thoughr of her, clicking the kettle button down and then crossing my arms, "Ugh. She gave Dylan a love bite at a party, you know, when I was in hospital."
My mum's attention immediately turned towards me, gob smacked, "You what?!"
"Yeah, and he gave her one to, so I'm done with the pair of them."
"Wow? Uh.. Well done. Not many girls your age would see that it takes two, to do something like that."
"I'm not sure if they slept together, but either way I'm done."
I turned my attention to the kettle which had just turned off as it was freshly boiled, making my brew."I know this may seem.. random and awkward Lola, but did you and Dylan, sleep together?"
I could understand why she was asking me; if I had slept with him, then of course she would've wanted me to go and have some tests done, which I would've thought about anyway. Luckily, I was still a virgin, and luckily I didn't give it up to someone who had clearly cheated on me more than the one time."No, luckily I didn't sleep with him." I talked the spoon on the side of my cup before turning back to face my mum. "But I was going to, the night he basically got off with Aimee."
"Oh my baby girl." My mum sympathetically sighed, making her way over to me and throwing her arms around my neck.
"Don't ever let anyone you don't trust between those beautiful legs of hours.""Mum that is literally the weirdest thing I've heard you say." I giggled, wrapping my arms around her.
"You know what I meant. Anyway." We separated and my mum dusted her off for a second before saying, "Who was that guy you were with last night? I saw you with him outside." She smiled, eager to hear the details, but if I was to go in depth, she would only end up more excited than me.
"He's just a new friend of mine, Marshall, he's been supporting me since I fainted at the prom." I shrugged, taking a sip out of my tea.
"What a sweet heart. I'd like to meet him."
"Too soon mum, too soon."
She chuckled as she waddled back over to her laptop on the kitchen side, straightening glasses and concerntating just as hard as before.
"What is that you're so fixated on?"
