It was late August, school was beginning and it was my last year at BridgeWay High. I was a senior, but I didn't feel much older. I was always told once you get to high school everything changes, but so far the last three years I've been here, nothing exciting or life changing has happened.

I'm starting to wonder was I cursed with this awful luck of not getting to see the true beauty of the world. I never had much friends and guys never paid much attention to me either. I was kind of my own hero when it came to things which wasn't always the best idea because I'm not good with fixing things. I have a little sister named Marlene, she's 14. As for my parents.. I never really got to meet them. Marlene was 8 months old when we got taken away, now we try our hardest to stick together when things go wrong. We've been in and out of foster homes, but we managed to stay with the Johnson's for a little over six years now. Their not what you would call the "perfect family", unless you counted fighting over EVERYTHING possible, "normal". They do try their hardest when it comes to feeding us, but as for Mr.Johnson's wife, she's has a crack addiction that leaves us hungry 2 out of 3 times a month, because of the lack of money.

I never understood why Mr.Johnson would never leave her, in my opinion he'd be better off without her. He loved her, but he was blinded by his reality he didn't want to give up. He believed she was the one.

School was only a few days away, for me and Marlene, we went searching churches for somewhat new clothes to wear. We never had much luck finding anything worth wearing, but we stuck with what we had. I only had another year in this hell hole then I'll be off traveling the world, well at least it's something I've always wanted to do. Once I'm out of High school, I'm adopting Marlene and were moving as far away as possible. It's kind of like a redo in life or starting over, how ever you want to call it. I'm doing this for her, for us, to show the world I'm not just some girl who never got far in life. I'm gonna prove everyone wrong, just you wait.

It's Monday, the day I've been dreading. I was walking to English when suddenly, I was tripped! Oh, I hated Stacy. She was Miss Popular, the girl all the guys drooled over. With her long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and big smile. She was your typical back stabbing bitch.

"What the fuck Stacy, what did I ever do to you?" I said, while picking up my books.

It slipped out of my mouth, but it felt good to finally say those words I've been waiting to say.

"It's what you didn't do, freak." She said as she walked off with her friends laughing.

Who does she think she is?

As I finshed picking up my books, one of my papers had slide across the hall where a guy was blending down to pick it up.

"Oh, great!" I said. "Our you gonna ripp..." Before I could finish my sentence, we made eye contact. His bright blue ocean eyes staring directly at me caught me by surprise!

"It seems you dropped your paper" He said handing it to me without breaking eye contact.

He began to walk back to his locker where he had left me breathless. Who was this guy? I've never seen him before, maybe he was a new student as I began to wonder as I walked to English.

I sat my books down at an empty desk in the back of the room and waited for the bell to ring..

When at the last second, bright blue eyes walks into the room has me at a race in my heart. He sits at the front of the class room, four desk in front of me to be exact.

It just so happens it's the ONLY class we have together through out the day, which was kind of a disappointment because I really wanted to see more of him.

As soon as Marlene got on the bus, I told her all about him. From how he took my breath away to how he had my heart racing when I saw him. I was excited about going back to school tomorrow and Marlene keep making jokes about how I was "In love".
