Light skin.
Dark skin.
Brown skin.
Caramel.
Too burnt.
Too dark.
Too ugly.Why?
Because the darker you are, the uglier you are. It's a shocker that you'd catch other races saying dark skins are pretty before black people. Though the whole world practically views dark skins as ugly, it's a major portrait in the black community. While we try to fix that, usually the black men spew the hate. Of course black women throw it too, but it's more evident in black men to bash dark women and praise the light skin. Dark skins are made into memes, there's a trend showing roast beef when you say 'dark skin vagina' and that dark skins look like they have mustaches and can't wear red. The hurt is more painful when you're dark skinned. It usually won't come from a white person, an Asian, a Polynesian - nope, it's mainly from black people ourselves.
So who faces the most colorism?
Dark skinned women. Now, light skinned women will face colorism too - but it won't be as effective as the branches that dark skinned women get. Black men of all shades can face colorism too, but it's usually them spewing it amongst black women. Even dark skin men bash dark skin women. It is not all black men, but it is a lot of them.
Why is it darker women?
Apparently society has taught that the darker you are the uglier you are. It isn't all true, ugly and beauty takes a long route on both sides.
Does it cause self esteem issues?
Oh yes. I've spoken to a few dark skins who were very suicidal when younger due to self esteem with their dark skin.
Is pretty for a dark girl a compliment?
No. It insinuates that dark skin is ugly and one person might be an exception.
This speaks a lot for dark skin women who will be called single and a virgin for voicing themselves.
