Chapter 1

''We trained for years, literally spent our whole lives in the practice room just to debut yet--- yet we disbanded just like that.'' Yujin complained, leaning on the wall as she helplessly falls down the floor.

''What are we going to do? I can't spend the rest of my life sulking about The Ark's disbandment. Talk about helpless.'' Yujin said. She wasn't the only who felt like that. The rest of the members felt the same way. They wanted to proudly smile and stand on the stage in front of many fans for a long time, but they only tasted the sweet taste of happiness for a brief moment.

''It's time to walk on our own paths and start a new adventure. We would still do well with our career even if we're far apart, right?'' Halla tried to cheer the girls up but it didn't work. They were still frowning. Thinking about it makes Halla feel a huge burden and not useful. She was always insecure with her vocals because the company didn't give her a single line in The Ark's songs. She'd always harmonize with the members, she was good at it but the staffs always scolded her for sounding bad even though she has a nice vocal color.

''Do you think we'll still be able to do good at this state? We're emotionally battered, being far apart from each other would affect our mental emotions.'' Jane negatively responded.

''Just because we're far apart from each other doesn't mean we can't do well with our career, you're all are being so negative. I know moving on is hard but we should face reality. It's reality, wake up!''

''Stop acting as if you're an optimistic and a happy person, stop smiling even though you actually feel sad, stop telling us that we're negative because you're like us.'' Stressed out Yujin, massages her forehead. Halla didn't respond, not a single word has been spoken coming from her mouth. ''Forget it, this senseless argument is going nowhere.'' Yujin sighed hopelessly.

''Bye, I'm going back to my hometown.'' Yujin grabbed her things and tucked her hand onto her pocket.

Jane seriously looked at Halla who was standing, dumbfounded. ''Halla unnie, are you okay?'' Without no hesitations, Jane asked with a worried expression across her face. Jane thinks she's the maknae, comforting her fellow members is the least thing she could do.

''I'm perfectly fine, Jane. Don't worry about me.'' Likewise, Halla plastered a fake smile.

''You don't look perfectly fine unnie. You're bad at showing your feelings.'' Jane said emphasizing the word 'perfectly fine'

''Like I said, don't worry about me.... I guess I'll be going off somewhere too, bye.''

Jane's P.O.V

Everyone's leaving already going back to their hometown. The group disbanded too, I don't know what to do anymore. Becoming an idol was my dream. That dream I had broke into little pieces that are hard to make it look like back the way it was. Our friendship fell apart as well.

I was happy that I was an idol but I was sad that it was only an idol for a short period of time after all of my efforts just like a dream that lasts for a short period of time. Indeed it was a great experience, but like a snap of a finger, bam! You're awake realizing it was short but a beautiful dream.

I played the song 'the light' which is our debut song. The song's about giving hope to the people who are down

Somehow, the song doesn't give me a hope.

The girls would always sing this song whenever someone's down. Everytime they sing this song for me when I'm down, I can't help but to sing along and smile.

I didn't know living for others could make me happy
Now I will be there

I'm glad I met them. I'm glad I became a The Ark member even if it's just a brief moment of happiness. I'm glad that I had fun with them.

I'll be there? Where exactly? Where are they now? They are supposed to be here beside me, together with all of the members. Singing this song to cheer up all of us, where are they?

I touched my tears, I didn't notice my tears were dropping. I wiped it away, I stood up.
