Chapter 2

Badgerpaw woke up to see herself curled up next to Jaypaw, she stretched and walked out of her nest, Sparrowstar was telling a cat to let out patrols and hunting patrols, she knew that she didn't have a mentor like Jaypaw did, his mentors name was Mapleleaf and his mentor was so skilled and talented Badgerpaw wished she had a mentor like Jaypaw did! But she didn't even have a mentor yet... Badgerpaw walked up to Sparrowstar and meowed " Sparrowstar am I ever going to get a mentor like Jaypaw? And who is that cat you keep on telling to give other cats orders? I thought you were the leader" Sparrowstar laughed " yes, I will give you a mentor some time today and the cat I keep telling to give other cats orders is my Deputy, Crowclaw" Badgerpaw looked around for someone she wanted to be her mentor, she spotted a black and white tom and she padded to him and she let out a joyful mew " Hey! What's your name? I wanna look for a good mentor for me! " The black and white tom looked at her and mewed " I am Shadowfeather and I suppose you are Badgerpaw, correct?" Badgerpaw nodded and mewed " do you have an apprentice yet? Id like to tell Sparrowstar who I want as my mentor" Shadowfeather meowed " No, I did have an apprentice before but she turned into a warrior, her name is Skypool and she was a great apprentice!" Badgerpaw let out an excited mew and ran off to Sparrowstar " I want Shadowfeather to be my mentor when I get one!" Badgerpaw mewed, Sparrowstar nodded and began to making more plans.

Badgerpaw felt Jaypaw nudging her with his paw and she woke up and heard Sparrowstar talking and Jaypaw mewed " It's time for you to get your mentor" Badgerpaw jumped to her paws, almost pushing Jaypaw to the forest floor and she walked out of her den and went to the center of cats. Sparrowstar began " We have earned another apprentice! Her name is Badgerpaw! Please welcome her as an apprentice and a member of this clan!" he moved his tail to Shadowfeather " From this day forward, Shadowfeather will be the mentor of Badgerpaw, and I hope that Shadowfeather will train her hard like he did with Skypool" Jaypaw started to cheer on Shadowfeather and Badgerpaw and the others joined in with his cheering. Badgerpaw went to her new mentor and he put his nose to her head " I will train you and you will become one of the strongest warriors" Shadowfeather mewed, " Okay! I will try my best" Badgerpaw mewed.

Badgerpaw woke up from a mystic dream, she felt the breeze come through her den and she licked her paw and swept it across her forehead, Jaypaw woke up, his eyes were a bright blue and his gray and white striped pelt brush against hers, he stretched when he heard his mentor call his name " Jaypaw! Time for some battle training! Take Badgerpaw with you!" Jaypaw flicked his ears and looked at Badgerpaw " Its so early in the morning! But come on Badgerpaw! Let's go" Badgerpaw got to her paws and looked out of her den, she and Jaypaw ran to their mentors and she saw another cat with her mentor, but Badgerpaw knew the other mentor, her name was Dawnflower, and the apprentice who was next to her was a cat from her den, but Badgerpaw doesn't quite remember alot of cats " That's Honeypaw " Jaypaw mewed in her ear, Badgerpaw mewed back " Who else is coming to train with us?" Jaypaw looked around " Cherrywhisker and Firepaw also Brambletail and Moonpaw" Badgerpaw looked at the other apprentices and warriors, she felt a pelt brush against hers and it was Shadowfeather, he was looking at her like he never seen her before " Let's get started" Shadowfeather mewed to the others who were part of the battle training.

Badgerpaw looked around to sense other borders and clans " That's Waterclan" Jaypaw pointed to a lake where their was alot of cats catching fish " And that's Darkclan " he moved his tail to pine trees and she saw cats on a border patrol " And that in the meadow is Fireclan " Badgerpaw opened her jaws, she scented nothing but cats and prey, she went into a hunters couch when she spotted a squirrel, she leaped and nipped at the squirrels neck and killed it " Wow! Your a great Hunter for a Kittype- I mean apprentice!" Badgerpaw shuffled her paws in embarrassment and she dug up her prey and left it so she can get it after the battle training.
