Badgerpaw woke up, she realized Jaypaw was gone, she sniffed the air to find a faint trace of him, she walked towards the scent and she smelt blood, her eyes widen with shock, she ran to the scent, she felt as if she never ran like she is now, she made it to the end of the scent, she realized Jaypaw, he was laying on the ground, three cats were on top of him, they were scratching him and making bleed even more, she scented them and they were DarkClan cats, Badgerpaw let out a furious yowl and she scratched one of the cats off of Jaypaw " STAY AWAY FROM JAYPAW!" The cats let out hisses and attacked Badgerpaw, she dodged all of their attacks, she bit one of the she cats neck and she ran back into her camp, the black toms attacked Badgerpaw again, they scratched her shoulders, she winced in pain, her heart was pounding when she saw Jaypaw lay on the ground like a helpless kit, his jaws were open, Badgerpaw let out a furious yowl again, she was crying and she felt a power come through her, she felt something burning come from her mouth, fire came bursting from her jaws, he other cats ran away, their tail down and they were in shock. Badgerpaw fell to the ground, but she knew she had to get up to bring Jaypaw to the medicine cats den, she grabbed him with her jaws and she brought him through the forest, his breathing was getting slower and slower each step she took. Badgerpaw made it to the camp, the other cats gasped, but none of them moved, Sparrowstar whispered in Crowclaw's ear and the Deputy ran to the medicine cats den and had Spottedheart emerge by the Deputy's side, her eyes were huge, she moved all the cats in her way and grabbed Jaypaw out of Badgerpaw's mouth, Badgerpaw followed the medicine cat " I don't want any cat in here!" The medicine cat mewed, Jaypaw opened his mouth " I... I want... Badgerpaw.... To..to stay" The medicine cat nodded and Badgerpaw moved forward and sat down next to Jaypaw " I'm sorry I didn't keep an eye on you Jaypaw" she let out a sorrow cry.

It's been a moon since Jaypaw has been in the medicine cats den, Badgerpaw never left the medicine cats den, she was surprised how Jaypaw survived such an attack, she heard a sudden gasp from Jaypaw " I'd be dead by now if it weren't for you, Badgerpaw, thank you..." Badgerpaw blushed and rubbed her flank on his, " I am sorry you have to suffer this pain, I wished I could've went there sooner" Badgerpaw mewed, Jaypaw tried to lift his head but he couldn't, Badgerpaw rested her tail on his shoulder, her gaze was fixed on the injuries, she never imagined Jaypaw in such pain, and her ceremony for being a warrior is really soon, she just needed to do her last assessment, but she wanted to do it with Jaypaw. A sudden movement came from the entrance of the den, Sparrowstar emerged and he was griefing for the young apprentice " You're looking healthier than last time I saw you, Jaypaw, and Badgerpaw your last assessment is in a few moons! So you better get ready and some goes to Jaypaw, if he isn't good for the few moons, then he can't become a warrior " He mewed sadly, Badgerpaw looked at Jaypaw, he was looking at Sparrowstar with worry eyes, he left the den and another cat came " Oh dear, my darling" Jaypaw mewed got he she cat who emerged in the den " Hi mom... That's Hollyberry, my mother" Hollyberry licked Jaypaw everywhere and he let out a purr " Crowclaw! Come see your son!" Crowclaw emerged into the den, Badgerpaw opened her mouth in shock " Your father is our deputy! " Badgerpaw mewed, Jaypaw nodded, Badgerpaw jumped in excitement, Crowclaw looked at her with amusement and he sat down near Jaypaw, Crowclaw looked upset " Why are you sad? Crowclaw?" Badgerpaw mewed, Hollyberry whispered in Crowclaw's ear, it was too shallow for her to hear " It was a long time ago" he began with a sigh " Hollyberry had kits, more than one kit, their names were Dewkit and poppykit and they all died, but they didn't die from being born, they died from a sickness, that sickness came to them before they were able to be made apprentices, and Jaypaw had the sickness too, and no cat knows what kind of sickness it was, Jaypaw somehow survived, so he might die before becoming a warrior... I just hope he will survive" Crowclaw put his nose on Jaypaw's flank, he looked as if he lots everything he loved, even worse!
