"It' s going to be okay. She's going to come home."

My friend was comforting me. It had been a day and a half since Y/N hadn't come home.

"She was so happy. She wouldn't just up and leave. I know my daughter, me and her have been the best of friends since she came out the womb."

"I don't know what's going on. You know how adolescent minds work. Jermaine tries to show out on me at least two to three times a week. And maybe this is just a drastic cry for attention, or maybe-"

I looked at her as she stopped in mid sentence. She knew this did not add up at all. As bad as we both wanted to believe it, it just didn't sound right.

"Well what did the officer say?"

"They can't start searching until after seventy-two hours. My baby could be gone and dead. I don't want to think of the worse, but what can I think of at this moment? She hasn't came back or even called me and let me know that she is alright. I hope she's okay. I don't want to break down but there is a big pain in my heart that my child is gone and I can't even have the satisfaction of knowing her certain status."

"She's going to come back home and you know-"

"I don't know anything right now. I don't know if she's the reason she left, when she's coming back, or if she's alive or not. I've been her mother and father and I just wish she would come home and stop playing with me."

"You know your baby and you know she wouldn't do you like this. Just think of it like this, whatever you're going through right now, she's going through ten times worse. She wants and needs you to be strong for her."

I watched her go in the hallway and leave. I couldn't hold it in anymore, I let my tears run out of my eyes. I didn't want to cry in front of her but I could not help it. I was lost and the only way I could be found is if Y/N comes home. I need her here with me. My daughter is my life. She came back with a box of Kleenex and sat them down next to me.

"I already knew that was going to happen, I seen the twinkle in your eyes and knew what was going to happen and there is nothing wrong with that. I probably would have been dead by this point."

Kneeling down by me, she rubbed my back and thigh in a circle.

"I want you to let it all out. Times like this can be tough and the best you can do is let it all out."

I could not feel comfortable in this situation at all. I just wanted my baby girl to come home.

I heard the home security sound off letting me know the open door was opening and in came Jermaine. He had went out and got me groceries and a few household supplies I needed. I got up quickly and grabbed my wallet.

"Now girl if you don't put that down."

"What do you mean? He went and did all that work, girl he deserves something."

"It's okay, I needed an excuse to drive anyway. Thank you though."

"You're welcome baby."

"Now I'm about to get this dinner started. So you, Jermaine gots to go cause we still talking."

"But ma-"

"Bye Jermaine."

The house started to smell like a home once the onions, and peppers began to get cut. She twisted the pasta in half and set them down, and continued to fry the shrimp, sausage, and ground beef.

"Girl you coming over here taking over my kitchen, that's what Y/N used to do."

It was a bad day. I had got embarrassed by the supervisor at work today. My feet was hurting, my straightening had frizzed up. It was just horrible.

I opened the door and went inside. I went straight to my room and seen Y/N on her phone listening to music.

"Hey mom. How was work?"

"Today wasn't good baby, mama had a long day. I just need some rest."

"Okay mama I understand."

I watched her collect her things and walked out my room quietly. I went to sleep for a few hours and woke up to the smell of food. I walked downstairs to find Y/N with her headphones in her ear and washing the dishes. I looked at the stove and seen smoke coming from pans and pots.

"Y/N, what are you doing honey?"

"I'm cooking us dinner, now you can go and relax and enjoy your free time."

I went upstairs and took a nice shower and came back to a plate of spaghetti and a cup of wine.

"Thank you Y/N."

I looked at her and the door rung. Jermaine answered the door and I heard a deep voice.

The man stood in the kitchen and I despised him, it was Y/N's father.
