Nothing really happened for the rest of that week. Pretty much just Gilbert demanding more cuddles from Roderich- usually resulting in, "No I'm busy." Or, "later," and if Gilbert was lucky he would get. "Fine. Only for ten minutes, though."
"Let's go downtown!" Gilbert ran into Rody's office, interrupting his piano playing practice.
"Why? I don't like going places unless it's mandatory."
"Because it'll be fun and lively."
"Sure."
"Wait- we can go?!" Gilbert's eyes lit up.
"No, I was saying sure to leave in a sarcastic note."
"Oh." He frowned, sitting next to Roderich on his piano bench.
"Pleeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaase? I prrooooooommmiiiissse I will not ask for anything else this week. I won't bother or interrupt your piano playing either."
It seemed like a good deal to Roderich. That meant peace. And silence. And nothing to get in his way.
He sighed and shrugged his shoulders. "Fine. Let me get dressed. And you too- get changed."
Gilbert sighed. He thought the sweatshirt and jeans were fine. But he would do it. For Roderich. He changed his clothes and waited for the other at the door.
Once Roderich was finished he frowned.
"What's wrong?"
"Your tail isn't showing, but your ears are."
"Do you have a hat?"
"Possibly." Roderich went down the hallway to look in the coat closet, digging through a messy pile of gloves, scarves and the whatnot.
He finally found a grey beanie and handed it to Gilbert.
"The fuck? This is a sock. Humans don't wear socks on their heads, do they?" He said, holding the 'sock' in his left hand.
"It's not a sock, smartass. It's a beanie."
"And? Hell, for all I know beanie could be a synonym for sock. Show me how to put it on."
Roderich put it on for Gilbert, tidying some hair out of the way.
"I feel like I look stupid." Gilbert huffed and crossed his arms like a small child who wasn't getting their way.
"You don't. Go have a look in the mirror." Roderich suggested.
Gilbert nodded in agreement and went down the hall to a wall mirror and checked it out. "Hm. It doesn't look that bad. I didn't know you had even somewhat of a sense of style."
Roderich tsked. "I do. I do have style, Gilbert. It's just a little different from the modern style these days. There's nothing wrong with that. Everyone has their own way of doing things. Now let's go." Roderich pulled Gil along outside and went into the car.
After some time of traffic, and yelling at other drivers the Austrian finally found a public parking garage.
He stopped the car and got out of it with Gilbert, holding his hand tightly and stepping out of the garage onto the sidewalk.
Gilbert's straight face had quickly escalated into a large smile, seeing someone he had recognized and waved vigorously at.
"Toni! Lovino! Hello!"
Lovino turned around with a frown. "The fuck?"
"Gil! Hello! Is this Roderich?"
"Wha-!?" Roderich was now completely confused. How did Gilbert know these strange people?
