-Tyler Joseph's POV, at Ruby's funeral-
Being at my little sisters funeral was worse than depressing, it was just wrong. She shouldn't have died, not after i had already saved her. After i found her, i found the note she left, telling me to 'tell our dad "i'm sorry"' i found another note, one meant for me.
Stay alive for me.
it read, the last thing i had of her, it was telling me to stay alive, for her. i closed my eyes, the funeral home was having an open casket, which i knew she would have hated, she hated her body being put on display.
"We're going to have some family members speak, Tyler Joseph, please come up and share what you said." the priest said, letting me come up and stand behind the podium, but not before i closed the casket.
"Uhm, Hi. I'm Tyler, Ruby's older brother slash best friend. I uhm, i have a song i wrote about her, but she never got to hear it. Before i play that though, i just wanted to mention, Even the happiest people are fighting something dark. Ru, she was fighting her own demons, behind her bright smile and Angel face. I guess now she's a real angel. She was the key to all our diseases, and now she's gone, so basically, to the point, I'll miss your bright smile lighting up the house, Ruby." I finished my speech, closing my eyes to keep the tears from spilling. i pulled out my ukulele, strumming some chords.
"This song is called Ruby, and it's about her." I said, strumming out the begining of the song, even though it would usually be on keyboard, she always loved the ukulele.
"Ruby I hope I see you, I've waited all this week, For you to walk my way, your soul will capture me. Your momma painted your room a shade of pink, she said, But with your great arrival that shade has turned to red.
Ruby take my hand, please lead me to the Promised Land. Tell me, where am I from, your eyes say, "Shada de da dum."
Ruby, you're royalty, in your home land, they all call you "Queen". Tell me, where are you from, your eyes say, "Shada de da dum."
You're an angel fallen down, won't you tell us of the clouds. You have fallen from the sky. How high? How high?
You're an angel fallen down, won't you tell us of the clouds. You have fallen from the sky. How high? How high?
You're true and pure. You hold the cure
We're all diseased. You hold the key. You're an angel fallen down, won't you tell us of the clouds. You have fallen from the sky. How high? How high?
Tell our dad, "I'm sorry."
Tell our dad, "I'm sorry." Tell our dad, "I'm sorry."
Tell our dad, "I'm sorry." Tell our dad, "I'm sorry."
Tell our dad, "I'm sorry." Tell our dad, "I'm sorry."You're an angel. You're an angel.
You're an angel. You're an angel
You're an angel.Tell our dad, "I'm sorry."
Tell our dad, "I'm sorry." Tell our dad, "I'm sorry."You're an angel"
