I woke up fifteen minutes before I had to go to school. I was still in my clothes from last night, and I began to mentally flip out. I jumped off of my bed and just brushed my long brown hair out of my face and brushed down all the frizz my hair had. Damn bed head! I yelled at my hair in my mind. I put on my makeup and ran out of the house tying my converse. I started up my Mustang and zoomed off to school.

I parked the car and jumped out of it faster than I jumped into it.

I ran down the empty hallway and into my homeroom, which seemed to be emptier than the halls. I mean at least the halls had left over papers filling around. I was confused and lost in my own school, my kingdom. I saw Mr. Kinglee come out of his class room.

“Mr. Blue, why aren’t you in the cafeteria?” His voice was disgusting, it sounded of a smoker with a bad cold.

“I asked to use the lav.” I said and hurried down the hall before he could say or do anything. I ran into the Café late and just scurried to look for Chase. He lifted his arm and waved it when he saw me come in and I ran to sit next to him.

“What’s going on?” I whispered to him. He put his hand on my thigh and whispered back slowly. “I don’t know, but how about we bounce out and go do something more fun anyway.” He winked. I started to get up and then I saw him….. Officer Fitz! What the hell was he doing here? I mean in my school! He could have been in a thousand different places right now. We could have not seen each other ever again and that would have been fine by me, but I mean really, why my school?

He looked up as I let out a soft groan and he smiled a pleasant smile. It made me feel like I was going to blush. I almost giggled, but I knew better than that. I saw Chase eyeing Officer Fitz because he had seen the way I was looking at him.

“Hello, East Ville High School! I am Officer Fitz” He said into a microphone. I just rolled my eyes at that amazing voice. Everyone replied with a screamed hello. I didn’t understand why in high school we still had the same energy as we did back in middle school when something like this happened. It never made any sense to me, because well I was always laid back about stupid things like this. “Well,” He went on talking, which broke my train of thought. “I am here to talk to you about….stealing, underage drinking, and drugs.” I laughed out loud of hard. The café was already silent but with that laugh everyone turned to face me. I smiled proudly.

“Miss. Blue,” Patrick said to me, “are you willing to share what’s so funny?” His voice was hard and cold. I got up proudly and walked over to him, grabbing the microphone that they left next to him.

“Well… Pa- I mean Officer Fitz. I find it funny that you’re here to tell us about the harms of underage drinking, stealing, and drugs.” I say back.

“Why’s that?” He came back.

“Well, underage drinking is just kids starting drinking early because we’ll be able to do it.”

“Well wait until you’re old enough to buy it.” He said.

“Try telling that to normal teenagers. Stealing, I mean damn, steal it and pay for it later. Am I right?! If I don’t have the money I’ll pay for the item later in a tip or something!” I yelled and heard everyone cheer. I laughed.

“Stealing is a crime.” He snapped.

“So is underage drinking and drugs are too, but how the hell does that stop any of us?!” I laughed a small yell back. “And about drugs, I mean damn. Have you ever heard of someone overdosing on weed?” I heard people cheering again. “No! Because you can’t OD on weed! Have you ever heard of someone dying because of weed?” I stopped so I could hear more people cheer, they knew I was right. “No! In some states weed is legal because it’s a cure for cancer!” I yelled and dropped the microphone back where it was, and started walking back to my seat.

“Well, I guess you would know, wouldn’t you?” He came back at me. I stopped and turned around my jaw hanging open. I heard everyone say ohhhhhhh.

“At least I’m not a killjoy, stuck-up, prick.” I hissed back. I heard oh’s and damns coming out of everyone mouths.

“Excuse me?” He said.

“I’m not the cop who’s only twenty. I bet they still call you a rookie. Don’t they Officer? I mean we all know cops are stuck up douche bags who need to pull their heads out of their tight ass holes.”  I laughed and rolled my eyes. His yellow eyes flickered and I saw something move within him. He didn’t say anything back, so I went to turn away, but the next words out of his mouth stopped me. “At least I don’t get caught by a rookie cop.”  Everyone stopped. I mean I had a rep to keep up with and I saw everyone’s mouth drop.

“At least I have the power to make you freeze at the word seduce.” I jumped back. His jaw dropped and everyone’s eyes were glued on us. I took a step closer and so did he.

“At least I don’t have a mother who is married to her old teacher, and my parents actually paid attention to me.” He said, everyone stopped and just looked at me. I mean it wasn’t a secret my mom and dad where once student teacher and everyone knew my mom and dad were never around. What Patrick did, that was a low blow for anyone. I dropped the microphone to the ground making a loud static sound in the café and just walked out of there.

“Wait!” I heard him call after me. I just ran down the hall tears coming out of my eyes. I heard footsteps behind me and just ran faster down the hall. I finally made it out to my car. I jumped into the driver’s side and just as I did I saw Patrick come out of the building and he ran over to my car.

“I’m sorry.” His breath came out torn and in small gasps.

“That was a low blow.” I gulped down the protuberance in my throat and sped off.
