"I love you"

The words she heard made her froze. She didn't know what to do. No one have ever lived in her heart except for some of her family members. Her mouth was slightly open. Her eyes were wide. The boy behind her looked up to see her. He frowned. He gritted his teeth. He's being dump by his master too early. Being dumped by her without her knowing it. She was stunned like a tree who haven't been touched for a long time. She snapped out of her deep thoughts and turned around to look at Caden.

"I don't know what's happening but I am clearly sure that I have no one else living in my heart other than my sisters. "

She said in her monotone voice. A thick tension filled the air. He has nothing to say. He's completely dead inside. He has no rights at all. He isn't royal at all. He has no enough power. He knew that he can't afford to face her family, his employers and his masters. He avoided eye contact with her. He stared on the grasses beneath him. He didn't know what to say.

"I don't know what's happening. "

She said once again. He didn't even know where his sentence came from, where his courage came from. His tears didn't stop flowing. He knew that his lady wouldn't lie. Maybe she would but not to him. She had already considered him as a friend and there's no way she's going to betray him. It took time for her to convince him to be his friend.

"Why do you have to tell it? This soon? I don't know why I have to hear this. "

He froze on his knees. His eyes widened. Her mouth hang open. Her tears still flowing. She turned around to leave. She felt so cold as if her heart froze for a minute. She walked her way to the mansion. After a few minutes of walking she stood in front of the door. She gently opened it and then walked in and then closing it again. She turned around to proceed to her bedroom but an unexpected slap met her cheeks. An angry mother stood in front of her. The slap gave her scratches on her left cheek. It felt hot. It felt like thousand of bubbles popped at once. It stings. She looked up her mother with gritted teeth. "You should have not done that! " She earned another slap. She guess she would have another beating. From the corner of the room her gaze caught her brother's figure. He was watching how their mother hurts her. He really hated her since she was brought to their family. "Mike, take her to the room! " Understood, Mike stepped out of the shadows and dragged her into a torturing room. Their mother did not follow instead she left her to her brother. "I can walk by myself
" She mocked. He clicked his tongue. His blood we're boiling. His sweat began to drop. He opened the door and pushed her in. He chained her on a chair. "What do you think you were doing!? " He shouted. He was concerned on their mother but not to his sister. "I don't know what you're talking about, bastard! " She replied. She earned a punch on the left cheek. She spat the blood that formed inside her mouth. "You're putting us in trouble. " He said trying to calm himself. She didn't reply. She stared at his eyes full of annoyance. "You're still clueless? " He grabbed her hair and pulled it up causing her to groan in pain. "Punish me, I don't care. " She said as her eyes meet with his. "You are to marry the older not the younger! " His brother shouted on her face. She felt liquids coming from his mouth touch her skin. She moved her arms to her face to wipe it. "I don't care about that marriage plan of yours, those are all bullshit! " She shouted. She earned a punch in the stomach. She coughed blood. She won't scream, this will only give her brother pleasure. "You're falling for that boy? Maybe I will have to kill him. " He teased. She raised a brow on him. "I'm not falling for anyone. " She said. It was the truth by now. No one's living in her heart. "Huh? " The boy mocked. He slapped her on the left cheek. She felt a doubling sting on her left cheek. He added more scratches on it. Her left cheek is now redder than before. "I doubt it. " He grinned. She gritted her teeth. She fisted her hands and stretched them both breaking the chain. She did both on her feet. Her brother was pissed.  She passed by him without making eye contact. She slammed the door open and proceeded to her room. She locked the door. She headed to her Closet. She opened the wooden door of it and searched for a different dress. She grabbed a long sleeves light yellow dress with a blue ribbon placed in the middle top of it that reach below her knees. She headed to the bathroom. She looked at her reflection in the mirror. She noticed that her redden cheek was back to normal but there are still scratches left on it. She rubbed it sighing. She stripped off her clothes feeling a lot exhausted. Sh felt her wounds stinging. It was a bit painful. She stepped in the tub and had a quick bath. After wearing the dress she dried her hair fast.

Thoughts filled her mind. She just cannot marry someone that fast. She's still young for a marriage. What now that even her employee, her friend, just confessed to her? She doesn't know what will happen next. A thicker tension will quickly build up after what just a happened a few hours ago. Everything will change.

After drying her hair she laid on her bed. She pulled the blanket to cover herself. She closed her eyes humming a lullaby and slowly drift off to sleep.

"Grandma, thanks for the meal. " The boy said before walking out the wooden one storey building. "You're welcome. " The old woman replied. The boy gave them a smile before continuing his walk.

"Sorry " A lady walked out the curtains located at the back of the cashier. "Dear, you must not get up yet. " The old woman said. She guided the lady inside leaving the cashier to her granddaughter. "I should have not let that witch have him. " She whispered with a sad expression painted on her face as she lay down her bed. "It's the past, Melissa. " The old woman frowned. "He was completely helpless. " A drop of tear escaped her eye. "What matters is now. " The old woman sighed. "Nana, can I have a cup of water? " She asked. The old woman nodded and grabbed the pot placed on the table next to her bed. She slowly poured water in the glads and gave it to her. "If I have just taken him. " She whispered before drinking the water she asked for. "It's not your fault, Melissa. " Nana sat on the edge of her bed. The dull looking woman stayed silent after that last sentence. She placed the glass beside her. She closed her eyes and let herself fall asleep.

The boy walk straight home after eating his dinner. He's not alone in the house but he doesn't like seeing his father. He would go out to eat dinner in stores but he has no money at all. It was one afternoon when he bumped into a dull lady. She was beautiful. She looks like she's in her middle age. She took him in their store which was where he ate his dinner today. She told him that he could come everyday and it'll be free. He didn't refuse at all. It was a good opportunity to escape from his father's reach.

He opened the old looking door of their house breathing heavily. He spotted his father drinking liquor in the kitchen. He gently closed the door not wanting his father to notice that he's back home. He silently walked up the stairs, to lock himself in his bedroom is his goal. The wooden floor wasn't an advantage at all. He couldn't fool around. He opened the door of his bedroom silently and closed it silently too. He locked the door and headed to his bed. He plopped down on it and pulled the blanket to cover himself. He closed his eyes and slowly drift off to sleep.

"I haven't seen you in a move for a while now. " As she opened the door a figure sat next to her grandfathers caught her eye. "Father? " Her mouth hung open in excitement and delight. "I thought you're still doing something important with the association? " She asked. Her father chuckled and looked at her with a serious expression painted on his face. "Dear, I don't want you going around after two days without a mission. " He said. She nodded. She walked towards her father with a serious expression on her face. He gave her a paper. "After this, do whatever you want. " He said with a light smile on his face but the serious look didn't disappear from his face and eyes. "Yes. " She replied. She walked out the room and walked her way out of the mansion but she was suddenly stopped by her mother. "Where are you going, my dear? " Her voice sounded so lovely that she appeared to have a little child to take care of. "To eliminate. " She simply said. "Oh" Was her mother's respond. She passed by her and opened the door. She walked her way to the fence but then before she could continue walking realization hit her hard.

"Idiot, why haven't you thought of it? "

Her heartbeats went fast at that thought. She's helpless again.

"I can't pass by the fence. "

It was true. She can't. She couldn't.
