We arrived at Keila's home at 4pm. "Well here's my home!" She said excitedly,opening the door for us to get in. "This is a beautiful home Keila." I said looking around amused. It's just a normal house but the inside was totally organized. Keila tapped me at the shoulder. "Welcome home, Elizabeth." She said while smiling warmly. "Thank you for letting me live with you,Keila." I said while smiling warmly too. "Let's sit first." I said gesturing for her to sit first. I saw her wincing though. "Let's talk about it." "But before that...." She said grinning. "Before that?..." "lemme take a selfie!" She announced then took out her phone. "Say cheese!" "Cheese!" We said in unison then she captured our picture. We looked at it. I grinned when I see our reactions. 'I feel like we're family now.' I thought while grinning. "Hey you alright?" She poked my cheek. "Yep." I said then poked her cheek too. "What happened? Why are you living alone?" I asked again. "Well...."
Flashback:
"Keila do you want to come with us in our family reunion?" My mom asked me. "No." "Why?" Daddy sit beside while rubbing my shoulder. "Because we are the only people who is united. They are plastic! We're not!" I said in anger. "Kei come on let's go. It's okay baby sis." My big brother said to me. "But-" "No buts. Don't worry we're strong right?" My mommy reassured me. "Yes.". "So, we are going there dear." Dad smiled to me. "Baby sis, big bro is here to protect you right? I promised that to you." Big bro (Kian) holds my right hand and stroke my left cheek. "Yeah." I smiled warmly,remembering the promise. "So will you come with us?" My mom asked again. "Yes I am." I said with finality. "Oh yeah! Thanks baby sis!" Kian said to me then hug me tight. "Thank you for strengthening me big bro." I hug him tight too. "Let's go! Climb in the car." Dad announced. "Okay!" We got inside then sorted at our usual sitting position. Dad is the one driving,mom is in charge in keeping my dad awake, I am at the back of dad. I always pick the left side. Big bro is in the right side back of mom. We are chatting about what are we going after the reunion. Then after 3 hours, "We're here!" My dad announced. "At last!" My big neo yawns. "I'm so noted at the ride earlier." "Well all you did was to sleep anyway." I said while rolling my eyes. "Oh really. All you did was to look outside and emote anyway." He said then crossed his arms. "Well at least I am aware of my surroundings. Not like you sleep here and there. You sleepy head!" I fired back then crossed my arms. "At least i'm not the one who is now already tired!" "Shut it!" Our mother shouted at us. "There's no point in fighting here. Let's just go inside, alright?" We just obeyed mom then went inside. I was amazed by the theme of it. Winter theme, so perfect. "Welcome! I am so glad you could come." My aunt hugged my mother. "Yes. Why wouldn't we Rachel?" My mom said then aunt Rachel show us to our seat. "Surprisingly she's kind. Although I know it's FAKE." I stated. Emphasizing the 'fake' word. "Keila don't say that. She's still a family member." My dad said then sighed. "Can you please stop hating them?" Mom said sadly. 'You can't stop me from hating them mom.' I thought for myself. I didn't answer that to them though. I sighed then turn to the stage because someone is talking. After that speech we have an early dinner. After that, desserts! They have blueberry cheesecakes, strawberry shortcakes and ice cream. My favorites. 'I need to get many!' I thought. As If my brother heard me he said, "don't eat too much. I know its your favorites, but you need to reduce too."laughing erupted there. "Let me eat!" I pouted the get one shortcake,one cheesecake,and chocolate ice cream. 'NO ONE CAN STOP ME!' I thought while grinning. "Chill alright." Dad joked. "Just let me eat OKAY" I said then chomp on desserts I got. The reunion was fun than I imagined it to be. "Let's go home." "Okay" we got to our car then dad drive. Me and big bro fell asleep even my mom. Dad was letting himself awake but he fell asleep on the wheel. I feel like we are swerving. "Mom! Dad! Big bro! Wake up! We are going to fall!" I wake them up but it's too late. We fell in a deep mountain. Big neo wrap his whole body in mine. When we fell down I heard my big bro groan. "Big bro! You're bleeding! I'm sorry I should have woke up faster. I do not sleep at rides right?" I said while crying. "Don't worry lil sis. I-i am supposed to p-protect you. I promised t-that right?" He stroke my cheek. I saw a tear falling from his eye. "Yes I know. But-" "lil sis. Live for me alright. And for mom and dad. We l-love y-you." He smiled for the last time then he closed his eyes. His hand fell from my cheek. "N-no big bro! Mommy! Daddy! Don't leave me!" I screamed while crying. I found my phone on my pocket. Surprisingly it's not broken. I call 911 and said our location. I kept crying until I heard a noise. I went up with a struggle. I shouted help to them then they saw us. They got us then I went to pick up our things and my brothers necklace. I put it on and just cried. They asked me what happened. When I said them what happened to us they sent me home. I kept crying and crying all night. I go to their funeral. The whole family was there. They sent their condolences on me then sent me home. I studied hard for them and keep living for them. I kept my promise even though its hard. My best friends are always at my side so eventually the pain keeps on fading and fading until the pain is gone. I thank them because their like family to me until I graduated highschool. We go to the same university as well. Happiness enveloped me because of them. They really helped me.
(Flash back finished.)
"Then I met you!" I said finishing my story. "So that's why you're alone. Condolence by the way." Elizabeth said then hugged me. "Don't worry. That's like 4 years ago. Thank you for it anyway." Keila said then hugged her back. "At least you are now part of my family." She added. "Yeah. With your friends." "Yep with my friends." She smiled. "I'll show you to your room. Come with me!" She said then took my hand. We arrived at a guest room at the second floor. "This will be your room Liz." "Oh thanks Kei. " I said smiling at our nick names. "Yay you called me by my nickname!" She hugged me then spin me around. "Woah chill." I said then laugh. She let me borrow some of her clothes. She even gave me a new bought under wear. "Um thanks for this." "No problemo. I'm going to cook some thing for dinner though. What do you want?" She asked. "Anything you want. Oh thanks!" She goes down to cook. I lay down and I thought, 'I go to a person I don't know then she tells me about herself. I wish I know my past and who I am someday.' I sighed. "Hey Liz its dinner time!" I heard her say. "Oh okay!" I wish its always this fun when i'm with her. I really like it in here. We finished dinner fast than I expected. "Good night Liz." "Goodnight Kei." I said then sleep for the night. I wish tomorrow is fun too.
