This is a poem about achieving what you want most in life, whatever that may be.

I close my eyes
Breath
The breeze kisses my skin
I sun gazes down, waiting
I’m waiting too, breathing
Waiting to be ready for this
But no one is ever ready for the jump
The fall
I take another deep breath
Still waiting
I know I’m not ready
But then I’ll never be ready
Run
I feel the need to run
So I go, just like that
And when I reach the edge…
I jump
The breeze turns into a hard wind as a fall
Unforgiving, pushing me away
The sun still waits
So I close my eyes and will myself to BE
Then I’m flying, like a bird right up in the sky
Or not
I guess I’ll never know until I make the jump
So I jump
