"Biiinnng biiinnng biinnng"

I groaned at the sound of my alarm clock. I hardly got any sleep after I had to take care of Carrie, I only had an hour anyway. It was 7am and I had to be at work for 9am. Maybe I could take the day off?

No. I have too much to do today.

I got up and trudged to the bathroom. I turned on the shower and splashed my face with water to wake me up. What date was it today? Oh the 7th. My mom was due in town soon. I would have to get everyone out of the loft for that. She hated my friends. Especially Carrie.

I took a hot shower and quickly dried my hair and put it into a high ponytail. I did my makeup and settled for a cream chiffon blouse and a black pencil skirt. I always liked to look modest at work, I don't really know why.

I got all my paperwork and books together and threw on my black jimmy choo's. They were a present from Carrie last Christmas. It was the only pair of shoes that I owned that cost more than than my rent.

Nobody was awake this morning. Carrie was definitely fast asleep, Jack was probably catching up with his sleep from working all night and Adam, my last roommate was unemployed so I wasn't sure where he was right now.

I had a little bit of time before I had to start walking to work so I grabbed a granola bar and read the newspaper.

"Morning Mags" said a familiar voice behind me.

I knew it was Adam

"Hey Adam" I said back.

I turned around to look at him. He was topless and just wearing a pair of white boxers. Now I wouldn't be human if I ignored the fact that Adam had a seriously hot body and definitely kept fit. I guess lately he has had a lot of spare time so he's used that time to work out and it has definitely given him justice. Adam was my other roommate, we kind of had one of those platonic relationships.

"Mags?"

I snapped out of my thoughts and noticed Adam's cheeks turned red when he noticed me checking him out. He ran his fingers through his messy black hair out of nervousness.

"Hmm? Yeah sorry" I turned away to hide my now burning cheeks.

He changed the subject. "Why do you always have to look like a nun when you go to work?" He laughed.

"What? No I don't, this skirt is short" I said back defensively.

"Not in Carries terms" he responded raising his eyebrows.

"I'm not Carrie" I said back.

"I know, but you would look way hotter in a little black dress" he teased.

"It's work" I stated.

"So?" he cheekily responded.

"Are you trying to tell me something Adam?" I teased back.

Adam and I always had a flirty, playful relationship that didn't mean anything to me. I did find him attractive, anyone would be crazy to not find him attractive. He was tall but not too tall. He was well built with broad shoulders and a toned out stomach. He had a gorgeous chiseled jaw and dreamy brown eyes. His hair was long enough to run your fingers through.. and I could just...

"Mags?"

Crap I did it again. Get it together Mags.

"Huh, yeah sorry I'm just really tired" I lied. "I'll go get changed"

I quickly ran to my room hiding my fire red face. God what is wrong with me?

I must be not seeing enough of my boyfriend Casey. Yes Maggie you have a boyfriend. Remember that.
