Happy Friday 13th, guys!

A few days later, we decided to go out during the day after college. Luckily for me, Adrien didn't murder anyone. In fact, no one even took notice of him. It was when we got home when there was a ruckus. My father was waiting in the kitchen.

"And who might you be, son?"

It was terrible timing too as we were holding hands.

"Oh, Jules...didn't you tell your dad about us?"he winked.

"I-I!"

"Good Afternoon, sir. I'm Adrien, your daughter's boyfriend."he held out his hand. They exchanged a firm handshake. Ugh! Why not "friend" or "tutor"?!

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about this, father."I muttered.

He ignored me.

"So...Adrien, what are your grades like?"he questioned.

"Father!"

"I'm glad you asked. The last exams I took were in France in which I achieved a THF in everything I did. I also have an international baccalaureate which I took a few years early."

"Hmm...impressive. Into sports?"

"Of course! Although I can't play them as well as I support the teams. I'm no Rooney."he laughed. My father laughed with him.

"You seem like quite the character, got any hobbies?"

"Well...I love playing the guitar and cooking. I can do an awesome galette."he smiled.

"Well, I'd love to jam with you someday, Adrien. I used to be quite the rocker...back in the day."he mused. I grimaced.

"Father..."

"Looks like you've picked yourself a keeper, Juliet. Don't get too carried away, you know how french boys are in bed."he winked at me.

"Stop!"my cheeks flushed.

"C'mon! Let's go do your algebra homework together in the living room." Adrien tapped my shoulder before walking into the next room, I followed him.

"Why did you lie to him?"I hissed.

"I didn't. I actually do have an IB and a passion for cooking."he whispered back.

"No about the whole "dating thing"?"I retorted.

"It was the most believable thing I could think of, I'm sorry."he sat on the couch.

"That was so embarrassing!"I grimaced.

"My bad. Now, sit on my lap would you?"he smirked, patting his legs.

"No, my dad's here!"I gasped.

"All the better. Should I talk dirty to you first?"

"No!"I cried as he pulled a blanket over himself. Tucking his hand into the waistband of his jeans, he continued.

"If you don't, I'll scream your name as I please myself under this blanket."he winked.

"You wouldn't dare!"he raised an eyebrow. Moving his hand, he smirked and opened his mouth.

"J-J"he moaned.

"Fine! I'll sit on you."I sighed, sitting on the edge of his knees. "Happy?"

Wrapping his arms around my waist, he pulled me back so that I could feel his heartbeat on my back.

"Happy."he snickered, grabbing the remote and resting his head on my shoulder. "Let's watch..."he paused and looked through,"this!"he decided. It was a gory-looking horror movie. Pressing play, he leaned back.

"Who says I wanted to watch anything?"he hugged my waist a little tighter.

"I did, now shh!"

"Are you normally this romantic?" I sneered.

"Shut-up!"he hissed. I subsided.

The film was okay. I'm not a big movie fanatic myself. However, Adrien on the other hand was very into the film.

"A knife, my dear. That is what this is."

"But Lord Sanguine, a knife is no way to...ahh!"a close up of the man's face popped onto the screen, his eyes wide and teeth bared.  I jumped and Adrien laughed at me.

"This too scary for you?"he mocked.

"No, it just surprised me is all."

"Of course it did."he breathed.

Being this close to him wasn't actually that bad. He was warm and smelt good, like fresh, burning firewood. Before he smelt of blood...I suddenly had a strong urge to turn the news on. I tried to grab the remote but he tapped my hand out of the way.

"Now, now...I thought we were supposed to be watching a movie together, hmm?"

"I just wanted to check something. We can pause the movie."

"Not a chance."

"But it's my house, I should have the freedom of---"

He shushed me.

"Just drop it. I would hate losing it with you over something as trivial as a remote."he hissed, his arms wrapping around me like huge vines. They began to tighten to the point of agony but never past that. It was really uncomfortable, but not excruciatingly painful.

"Okay, okay, fine. I'll drop it. Guess you wanted to finish the movie, huh?" I wheezed.

That's not what I thought at all. He was either a control freak (which wasn't very probable) or hiding something from me. No way I was going to tell him that though. He simply hummed in response and we carried on watching the movie, even though I wasn't as comfortable sitting on the serial killer's lap as I once was.

It was in his nature to hurt without remorse. Whether he wanted to change or not was debatable.

"Hey."he whispered. Turning round, I looked at him. "You're not upset with me, are you?"

"What's it to you?"

"I shouldn't have acted that way, my apologies. Old habits I guess."

The credits began running.

"Can I have the..."

"Let's go shopping. I've got money and I need to buy new clothes anyway."he smiled nervously.

"Yeah, I'd like to go shopping with you."I said cautiously. "But not today...most of the clothes shops are shut now."

"Mmm...okay then."he loosened his arms around me.

"Do you want any tea...or?"

"Ah yes, I'm preparing cholent today, but I could always make you something?"

I gasped, wondering how long my father had even standing there for. It made me uneasy.

" "Cholent" "he said quietly to himself. His eyes widened and he turned to me. Snapping his fingers, he pointed at me. "Your family's Jewish, isn't it?"

"No...only my father. It only passes down the mother's side."

"Or through conversion."my father reminded me. I rolled my eyes at him.

"I'm surprised, this house isn't very erm...Jewish. There wasn't a mezuzah on the side of the door. Isn't that a mitzvah, or something?"

"Alas! Our outside mezuzot were knocked off by disgraceful Gentiles many a time. And as you can see, there is only one big room on the ground floor. There's a tiny one outside my bedroom...but that's about it. Who knows what malevolent beings are among us without such protection."my father frowned.

"I agree."he replied.
