She came out of the bathroom still tempted to check her phone for new messages but decided against it. She knew she would regret it. She slowly made her way down the hallway and into the kitchen of her tiny house. She took a cereal box out of the cabinets and took a bowl from the drawers next to the refrigerator and poured some cereal into the bowl. She took milk out of the refrigerator and poured into the bowl, as well. She took her bowl and set it on the dinning table and peacefully ate her breakfast in silence.
She couldn't stop thinking about the message. Why after almost 4 years he hasn't texted her back until yesterday? She couldn't figure it out. She was so devastated when he left, she couldn't go back to school. It was too much to bare for her.
Beeeeeeppp!! She picked up the house phone and answered it before looking at the unknown caller ID.
" Hello?"
" Hey, it's me!"
" Hey Jade! What's up?"
" Nothing much, just wondering if you wanted to go bowling with us? The lads are coming over to the house and we also invited Ash and Lynsy to come. Wanna tag along?"
" No thanks, I'm good."
" Why not?? Are you okay? What's wrong? You haven't answered my calls or messages. Are you sure you're doing alright?"
" I'm doing fine. Nothing's wrong, I'm just not in the mood right now. Thanks for the invite though but I'd rather stay in today. Have fun!" I hung up before she can speak.
I really wasn't in the mood for going out. I'm still not over him. How can he just think that a simple message can do us good after long god damn period of pure silence??
She shook her head and pushed the thought away while she put her dishes into the sink and made her way into her room again.
