Abby
I stood in front of the mirror, nervous about my next step. I had to head to the studio to work on my album; I had just found out that Dean Martin is going to do the song with me, but since the note I got this morning, that's the last thing I want to do.

I was about to leave when the phone rang, and a sigh of relief washed over me. Saved by the bell, I whispered, rushing towards the phone.

"Hello?" I whispered, as I wiped my eyes. "Who is this?" I asked again.

"It's your husband." I smiled hearing his voice. I missed him, but I didn't want him around. I was still confused about my feelings and attachment to him, but right now, I just wanted him home. "How are you?"

"I'm fine. How was your flight?" I asked, sitting down beside the phone. "What day are you back?"

"Next Friday, I hope, if everything goes well." I smiled softly. "Hey, I know I left on a bad note, but I'm sorry, and I will try to make it up to you."

"I know," I reminded him. "I got your letter. That was very sweet of you."

"I'm old school." I chuckled; he certainly was at times.

"Hey, I've got some news. I've nearly finished my first album. It's only got a few songs left and Dean Martin will be featuring on one of the songs," I confessed.

"You know he's good friends with John Wayne." I knew that. "Well, that's good news."

"Yeah, he's doing a love song with me." I pulled the phone away from my ear, cringing. "It's called Secret Love Song. It's a two-part song."

"Is that about me?" I didn't want him to know that. "Abby?"

"No, it's about my best friend," I lied again. "Dean will be featured on the first and second part."

"Why Dean?" he asked. I rolled my eyes. "Why didn't you ask Elvis?"

"Well, it was chosen by my manager, Edward. He thought between Frank and Dean." I paused, coughing lightly. "Dean has more of the tone for love songs. I mean, he sings That's Amore, which was enough for me."

"And the fact you're a fan?" I could feel him roll his eyes. "What are the other songs on the album?" Was he interested, or was this phone call part of some contract?

"Well, there's Power, Secret Love Song Part One and Two, Woman's World, What I Miss Most, and Home." I paused, smiling as I listed them. "There are only a few songs, but it's only my first album."

"I can't wait to hear it," Marlon replied. Then he paused, and I knew something else was coming. "I'm actually ringing you because of a headline in the papers." I closed my eyes. I knew this was coming. "It's been reported that I'm having an affair." He sighed heavily. "I'm calling to let you know that I'm not. You're my wife, and I'd never cheat on you."

"I know. I believe you," I said, though uncertainty crept into my voice. I remembered his past, how he had cheated on his partners before. "Baby, I have to go."
