The girl teetered at the top of the cliff, looking for sure like she would jump, but she hesitated. Stepped back. She knew she would not be injured if she jumped, but that was not quite what scared her. The immensity of the thing she was about to do, the cliff, the canyoneering, and even braving her friends without her hearing aid made her hesitate. But then she closed her eyes. She had overcome her fears. So, with a grin that bubbled up inside of her and made her laugh, she looked at her friends, waved, and leaped.
