The crash

Dead silence

All I can see is black. I search around for any sign of light. I can hear a faint buzzing sound. My phone. I switch it on and turn on the flash light. I'm in my car? I feel a sudden jolt of pain in my head, what is going on?

I click on messages and text my mum.
Seren: Mum? I'm in trouble I need help!
Mum: What's happened are you okay?
Seren: I've had an accident. I don't think I'm hurt but
Mum: What happened? Where are you?
Seren: I don't know where I am, I'm so scared
Mum: How can you NOT know where you are?
Seren: I can't tell..

I look out my window and all I can see is murky blackness. It's so cold. A memory comes back to me of driving by a frozen lake..

Seren: Mum, I think I'm under!
Mum: Under what? Look around sweetie, for super markets, shops, anything
Seren: No Mum, I'm under water!
Mum: What?! Okay okay, stay calm baby.
Seren: It was snowing, I must have passed out while driving. I'm so sorry
Mum: Are you hurt?
Seren: I don't think so, my head hurts a bit but I must have just hit it.
Mum: Is there water coming in?
Seren: A little, I'm sat up on the seat with my knees against my chest. It's so cold! I'm shivering like crazy
Mum: Are you floating? Can you get out?
Seren: Mum I'm completely UNDER! I must have been out for some while for this to happen
Mum: Can you see the top? How far up is it?

I look out my window, nothing.

Seren: It's frozen over, the water is all ice! I can see the surface mum I'm so scared. I might be at the bottom but I can't see that either
Mum: So you can't get out?
Seren: it's all around me. I think I'm sealed in.
Mum: The ice particles must be keeping the water from flooding in. It's working to our favour. I'm coming to get you I promise.

I breathe out condensation. I know I am going to die here.

Mum: I will find you, I promise.
Seren: okay
Mum: which road where you on last?
Seren: Idk. I was coming back from Aimee's house. There was a party. With drinking.
Mum: Right. Try and think back.
Seren: idk....82? Yes! Douglas county 82.
Mum: Can you map it? Use your GPS
Seren: Shit shit shit. It just keeps saying searching. I'm so sorry
Mum: Don't worry
Seren: I have no service but I do have a weak wifi signal. Maybe from a business near by?
