I think for a moment. My thoughts whizzing around my head like I'm the BFG going dream catching.
Mum: I'll Google it
Seren: okay xx
Mum: There's nine lakes between Garfield and Alexandra on county 82. 3 of them have businesses nearby. So you're in one of those. Good start. I'm calling 999 hold on X
Seren: Mum
Mum: I'm coming to search for you hold on
Seren: Mum!
Mum: Yes baby?
Seren: I feel light headed, I think I'm going to puke

I pull up my clothes desperate to find an answer. I feel a sharp pain in my head again. I put my hand to my crown and feel a sticky warm substance oozing from it. Crap.

Seren: I'm so sorry
Mum: Don't be. You're going to be just fine.
Seren: No, I'm not, my head's bleeding
Mum: Oh, honey
Seren: Glad you made me check
Mum: How bad is the bleeding?
Seren: Pretty bad

How had I not noticed it before???

Mum: Don't worry
Seren: Mum, I'm scared. Idk what to do
Mum: Don't worry baby I'm coming for you. Don't go anywhere
Seren: believe me, I can't
Mum: Sorry. Terrible use of words.
Seren: Am I going to die?
Mum: No, we're going to stop the bleeding.
Seren: But there's so much of it!
Mum: What are you wearing hun?
Seren: Jeans, a t-shirt and an adidas jacket
Mum: Are you wearing a belt?
Seren: yep
Mum: okay here's what you're going to do. Take off you jacket and fold it into a tight bundle.

I do as she says.

Mum: take off your belt. Put your jacket over the wound and tie your belt around your head to hold it in place
Seren: I did it. It hurts so frickin bad now
Mum: Whatever you do, don't take it off. I'm coming to find you baby.
Seren: I'm so tired
Mum: Turn your hazard lights on, press the red triangle button.
Seren: Okay. But I'm so tired
Mum: The lights will help me find you
Seren: They're flashing, good idea
Mum: I'm looking for the lights Hun

My phone beeps and a red warning sign appears

Seren: Shit, low battery.
Mum: Do you have a charger?
Seren: it only works if the car is running

I suddenly feel all drowsy

Mum: shoot. How's the wound? Still bleeding?
Mum: Seren? Are you there?
Mum: Seren?
Mum: answer me!
Mum: Seren?

A sudden pins and needles sensation reaches my feet.

Seren: Sorry I blacked out for a moment or two
Mum: You have to stay awake sweetie!
Seren: Water woke me up, its higher now. My body heat and breathing must be melting the ice outside the windows.

I move into the back seat, where the water level is lower. *beep*

Mum: You still there?
Seren: Ye, I moved into the back, there's less water here.
Mum: good thinking baby girl
Seren: mum?
Mum: yes?

Seren: I love you
Mum: I love you too
Seren: I'm sorry you'll never see me graduate
Mum: Don't say that, you'll be fine
Seren: I'm sorry I'll never get married
Mum: shhhh. I'm almost there
Seren: You'll never have grandkids. That sucks
