I knock on Bella's door. Kyle opens it, looking shocked as he sees me. "Penny! Hi. Bella's at the mall... Has she told you?"
"Oh! I don't think so..." I check my texts. Sure enough, there's one from Bella. "Right. Sorry. And thanks - bye!"
"See ya." he says. I head off to the mall and find Bella drinking a cappuccino in Starbucks.
It's so strange thinking she's the little girl that decorated the tree with us back in Brooklyn... With dad. And Sadie Lee. And Tom - I haven't seen him in a while! I make a mental note to text him afterwards.
And Noah was there too. But that's all in the past now. It's time to have a future. Find someone new (NOT BLAKE) , get over Noah, tell the baby Sixteen years later that it's real dad's Noah Flynn...
No! God no! I'll be back with Noah..
Bella sees me and smiles. "Hey Penny! What's up?"
"The sky. And what's down?"
"The ground!" Bella laughs and I join. We made up that greeting when she was 13. It's still going today.
"Soo..." Bella says, and then what follows is silence. Awkward.
"Bella... Can I sit down, first?"
Bella nods. "Of course! Should I order you something? Coffee? Muffin? Latte?"
"A Latte sounds good, thanks." I pass her ten dollars and she giggles.
"I'll pay for you! What better way of wasting my money than for you?"
I smile. "Thanks, Bee. You're the best!"
She goes and orders me a coffee while I think of how to word my problem.
She comes back with my latte and I nod gratefully. I open my mouth to speak, but Bella surprises me.
"I know how to solve this, Pen. Just end the dare."
I open my mouth in shock. "What dare?!"
Bella links hands with Andrew. I wish that Kyle knew that Bella is very aware of the fact that there are plenty wish in the sea. She's a famous supermodel, after all. She hooks up with guys but the relationships never lasts.
"Hey Kyle!" Bella says though her phone. I hear a squeak on the other end. "Sorry, but it's over! I found someone new. Toodles!" and she hangs up on him.
What a way to break up with a guy.
Poor Kyle.
Hope he never makes the same mistake again.
