He could hear the sirens of cars and fire trucks. The pain was still in his body, going through the back and front. He had no strength, he couldn't even open his eyes. All he could do was hear, and feel as the doctors tried to help him. They wrapped bandages after putting some medicine on the skin. He heard Chief in the back ground say :

"Save him no matter what, he can't die like this."

He thought that he finally appreciated by the Chief. He wanted to say thanks but he couldn't move or anything. They stuck a injection into him which made him go to sleep.

He could open his eyes, he saw a bright yellow light shining from the ceiling. It hurt his eyes, he just put up his sheet to cover his eyes. The nurse came with some food after a couple of minutes. She said politely, "Would you like anything else with this sir?" Arima nodded no, and started to munch his food. Arima felt an unusual startle in his body. He didn't worry about it and just started to eat his food.

Arima was done with his food, and started to watch the T.V that was on. The nurse came and asked politely, "Are you feeling alright, I mean like, any pain or nauseousness?" Arima said, "No, and do you know when my discharge?" "Well, not that I know anything. but.... it might be like 2 or 3 more weeks." "Thanks for letting me know!" "No problem, if you need anything just call me."

                                                                  *2 weeks later*

Arima kept on looking at his watch. It felt like the time wasn't moving at all. He was perfectly fine, healed, in good shape. The only thing he had to do was now is wait. The nice nurse came in with some food and said, "This is the last food I serve to you. You're leaving on your discharge today, in 15 minutes." Arima got excited and the same time depressed. He knew the nurse for a couple of weeks now. "Well, I hope you prepared this last meal the best." She laughed and head outside the door.

Soni came in with a grin on his face. He had crutches and some bandages on his face. "I just got discharged today, early in the morning. I escaped from the cell they put me in, then I came to get you. I could hear your screaming, it almost made me laugh. But when I was so close, that ugly-ass Lucifer got me and gave me these crutches. He then put me in the cell with some bastards who mess me up."

Arima coughed with the food in his mouth, "I thought you died, I heard a gunshot in the room they took you in. Soni took a book out and sat at the chair. "Hey, isn't that my book?" "Oh this? Oh yeah, this is yours. You already read this book so I thought I might as well read it."

                                                  *15 minutes later*

Arima got up and started to rub his back. He stretched his back, and drank the cup of water.

You ready to go, Arima?"

Arima nodded and went to dress into his work clothes. Arima came out and Soni immediately stopped him. "Don't you have anything else to wear?" "No!" Arima ignored Soni and went outside. He took a deep breath and let it out. It felt like he hasn't been out forever. "Eh, What happen to my car?" "They blew it up." "What did they do? Did they really do that?" Arima kept on swearing on them until Soni showed Arima his car.

He calmed down and took a deep breath. "You little piece of sh-," "Hey man watch it, there are people around. He took the handle and swirled it open. "Oh baby, I missed you." Arima kissed the wheel of the car. He took the box of cigarette out, and went to take one out. Soni stopped him, "Dude you can wait a couple of days." "Your right." Arima put the box inside the container and turned on the car.

They reached the station. Arima could see the chief through the open glass window. The chief came out of his office and told Arima to go into his office and wait. Soni went to the food place just a few blocks down the street. When he entered the chief's office, he sniffed up a unusual smell. He sat down on the chair and picked up the rubix cube. It took the chief a couple of minutes. He finally came in the door, he slammed it close and at down on HIS chair. "Put the rubix cube down, I have to solve it." He thought to himself, the chief was in a bad mood. He smacked down a yellow-covered file case. "Explain this!" He opened it up and swiped through the numerous numbers of notes and pictures. He had no clue what they were or meant. "Look, I'm not mad at you but this case is still on the loose. You said you gave up on this case but it's rising. I interviewed almost everyone, even the low-grade officers but they kept on saying no. I just want someone to finish this off. I remember you working on this case for a couple of months. So, I'm just asking if you can do it again."

A silence broke down in the room. Arima looked at the file, almost making a starring contest with it. He was about to pick up the file, but he put his hands on his face. He gave his eyes a couple of rubs. "Excuse me sir, I have to go to the bathroom." The Chief was unamused by the lousy excuse.

He opened the door and went to the sink. He looked in the mirror for a slight second and turned on the sink. He filled his hands with water and splashed it on his face. For a second he thought his brain was in a coma. Then his vision went to a white. He saw all that he'd been through. He saw Lucifer hanging him. He screamed as everything started to come to him. He banged his head on the wall. It was starting to come to a stop. Water started to pour down his eyes. He wasn't crying of sadness. He wasn't crying of depression.

Arima went to the Chief's office and gave him a "Yes" He picked up the file case and didn't care about what the Chief was going to say.

He sat down on his comfy chair and peeked out the window. He didn't exactly have the best office, especially because of the view. But today the view was just fine. A long and big truck parks in front of the window. He cracked his neck and hands.

                                                   "Finally! A real case."
