Topic: Dating while in school

Opinions on dating in while school?

Dating while in school is fine by me... But you should follow these guidelines in my opinion...

1) Don't date for popularity

~This will result in lies and a whole lot of drama~

2) Don't ask someone out if you were dared to

~If someone asks you out find out if it was a dare. If so, find out if they really like you

Dating someone out of a dare can be a curse or a blessing, depending on whether or not you like each other. If you are going to dare your friend to ask someone out, don't do it for amusement, do it because you know the other person likes your friend and your friend likes them too~

3) Don't date excessively, because the last thing you want is to have dated every available guy with in a grade and a half radius of you by freshman year of college.

~This will make you look like a whore, and then every guy who you haven't dated is either:

A) taken

B) your ex

C) thinks you're a whore and won't date you

Or...

D) is that one armed creep named Owen~

4) Don't cling; it's cute when you're insuperable for like two weeks max. Anything after that, you're clinging.

~If you're a clinger, BACK OFF. Nothing could worse for a relationship than to have your girlfriend on your shoulder 24/7/365.

It's like your boyfriend sees you and is all like, "Pauly want a cracker?"

You don't need to do everything together anymore! Cherish the fact that you lasted through the clinging stage! But it's time to move on from that~

5) Make sure you're together for the right reasons.

~If you're together because your moms are besties and it's what you think they want, you are in a relationship for the wrong reasons.

If you're together because one of you owed the other a favor. And the chosen favor was to go to formal together; and people got the impression you were dating and you never "broke up" or told them you weren't together... You're together for the wrong reasons~

6) Personally I'm the "sisters before misters" type of girl, don't ignore your friends because you think your boyfriend of two weeks is your soulmate. In fact if he's not your soulmate [which I doubt he is] he should be nothing more than your best friend.

And finally...

7) Keep your boyfriend/ girlfriend close, but your best friends closer.

~Look, the chances of you marrying your boyfriend of two weeks are nonexistent. And while he's off hooking up with some hottie that just transferred to your school, your best friends will always be there.

And in case this boyfriend of two or more weeks just so does happen to be your soulmate, I wish you good luck~
