"Mum, I'll be fine. I promise." I said for the seventh time. We were at Platform 9 and 3/4, waiting until it was 11 o'clock. I was fifteen years old, but this was my first year at Hogwarts. I spent the first four years at Ilvernormy, the wizarding school in America. My parents had moved here because my Mum found a job opportunity at the Ministry here. Unfortunately my Dad had to come along too. How much fun that was... I still had bruises and cuts on my arms. I wore a black leather jacket to cover them. I also wore a dark grey singlet, black ripped jeans and over my shoulder was a small bag with my glasses and a book in it. My black hair was out and below my chest. My trunk was already on the train."I know you will." She smiled softly. "Now remember, study hard. Don't get into too much trouble. And no boyfriends." I rolled my eyes.
"Mum!" I replied. She laughed.
"I'm joking. I'm joking. Who knows, maybe there's some cute boys here."
"Mum." I said again. The train whistle blew, indicating that it was going to leave soon.
"Anyway, you better go now. Don't forget, you're coming home for Christmas." My smile faded.
"Do I have to?" She frowned.
"Of course why?" I looked down.
"Will Dad be there?" Let's just say... I don't have the best relationship with my father.
"Don't worry about it. It'll be fine." That's what she says all the time. But once I get home it's the opposite. My mother is too scared to say anything. I sighed and hugged her.
"Well see you at Christmas then." I said and boarded the train. The train started moving and I waved to my mother again. Finally, when she was out of sight, I sighed and found an empty compartment, surprisingly.
I sighed and looked out the window before opening my bag and grabbing my book and glasses. I put my glasses on and opened the book. It was about Greek Myths, and I had to admit, it was quite interesting. I was just about to start reading when the compartment door opened and two girls appeared. One had bright blonde curly hair, parts of it pinned up. She had grey eyes and freckles covered her face. She also wore red lipstick and long earrings. She basically looked like a diva. The girl beside her had dark brown hair that was above her shoulders and brown eyes. She had a fringe and fair skin.
"Yes Lily you can go." The diva-looking girl said to across the hall. She turned around and saw me. "Oh, someone's here. Well then, can we sit here? Everywhere else is full."
"Sure." I smiled slightly as the two girls came in. They sat across from me.
"Are you new here?" The dark-haired girl said. I took my glasses off and nodded.
"Yeah."
"What's your name?" The diva girl asked.
"Isabel. Isabel Fall." I answered. She smiled, showing pure white teeth and held out her hand. I shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you Isabel. I'm Marlene Mckinnion. This is Alice." Marlene nodded towards the other girl. Alice smiled and I shook her hand as well. "So... you're new here? What year?"
"I'm fifteen. So Year Five." Their eyes widened.
"We're in our fifth year as well!" Alice exclaimed. I smiled.
"Really?" They nodded.
"Oh yeah. Fifth year. Fun year. OWL year." Marlene said. My smile faded and I groaned.
"They do OWL's here too? Great..."
"Here? Oh right you're new... where are you from?"
"America. I went to Ilvernormy, the Wizarding school there."
