the heat was becoming more unbearable for jungkook as hour after another passed. not that he was complaining, he just wishes that taehyung would arrive soon, but knowing him, he'd probably be late for an hour or so. emitting a sigh, jungkook heaved the last box containing his books, notebooks (and basically other supplies that he used in college from the first semester) from the floor to the counter-tops. after summer break, it wouldn't be long before classes would come rushing in, sometimes without even a warning, so he had to prepare.

the events of last night invaded his mind. after his "video call" with taehyung, he remembered jumping back to bed and falling asleep. sadly, his memory only remained at that moment, unable to remember anything else that followed. did he really sleep soundly? he was pretty sure something else happened-- or maybe it was just him. still, whatever happened, he'd probably still end up cleaning.
"is hyung even serious.." he muttered to himself, grabbing a broom to sweep the floor. "if there's... someone in here, just try me and you'll be dead in seconds." a threatening string of words escaped his lips, his tone raised higher as if he was attempting to taunt someone.

"oh, wait, ghosts are already dead. dumb." he then snorted, finally accepting a defeat that he caused on his own.

what reverberated throughout the four walls of his dorm were the sounds of his skidding feet as he tucked his cleaning equipment away after he was done. he had always been a tidy, meticulous person, quite aware of the fact that most of his friends weren't--which only made him proud of himself. almost an hour passed after taehyung's promised arrival and he already had the pizza delivered, made his bed, had a shower, bought cans of soda from the convenience store, but taehyung still hasn't arrived.

worry started to flood his mind the same way his excitement did just a few hours ago. "what could've gone wrong?" his uneasy mumble resonated throughout the quiet dorm, and only then did he remember that he actually had a phone. he anxiously shuffled over his bedside table to check it.

69 messages.
21 missed calls.

just then, his phone flashed to a picture of taehyung and it vibrated, signaling that the latter was calling. it took no more than a second for jungkook to answer.

"hyung! where are you?!"

"i'm lost, i'm lost, where am i-- what's the name of the dorms again?"

"no, you're not lost, you're taehyung. and the dorm's within our old university, you f--"

"wait, i think i found it! bye!"

click.

'wow, okay.'  jungkook thought to himself, blinking as he tried to analyze what just happened. 'well, at least he'll be here soo-'  his thoughts were cut off once he heard the familiar knock that came in a pattern, 'okay, too soon.'

he knew that taehyung was quite impatient and he didn't want to waste another second, so he practically sprinted towards the door (which was enough not to cause any other unwanted mess), and it clicked open.

jungkook's eyes roamed from the floor until it trailed upwards, meeting the eyes of someone he had been waiting for.
