"jungkook!"
the following hour after jungkook had finished cleaning his entire dorm was worth it. there he was, tightly hugged by taehyung after the two shared a long glance at each other when the door finally opened. for jungkook, the small act felt worth it after months of waiting. for him, it was a prize from all the hard-work he had to endure.
"hyung," his words were muffled as he buried his head onto taehyung's neck, "i missed you."
"i missed you too, kookie." the latter grinned as he pulled away, much to jungkook's disappointment. taehyung only did so to get a good look at the younger, which had grown up over the months that passed. he looked more mature, with a different hairstyle, yet at the same time he still looked young--probably because of his choice of clothing.
"so, what's up?" taehyung asked, only after closing the door when he had stepped inside and removed his shoes. he revealed his iron man socks which was the same as jungkook's, and the younger beamed brightly at him upon realizing that he was a man of his words. though, he had to pretend that he was doubting him, just to be sure. "aren't those my socks?""no, it's the same as yours, remember." taehyung groaned, his bottom lip protruding in a small pout. "i am greatly disappointed."
this caused a loud snort from jungkook, with a roll of his eyes as he sat back on the couch and opened the pizza he bought earlier. "whatever, hyung, just come and eat with me." he said through a mouthful of pizza, his words muffled.

the afternoon passed faster than what the two had expected. they shared a couple of experiences and caught up with each other. jungkook learned that taehyung had been cosplaying at japan while he studied, which basically fits him. taehyung wasn't surprised to learn that jungkook was still the same, and he said so. they never asked each other about relationships and dating, and they didn't seem to mind.
by the time they've finished a few rounds of mario kart, it was already 8PM.
"hey, kook. what do you want for dinner?" taehyung's deep, raspy voice called out, stepping out of the bathroom with a towel tied around his waist and another resting on top of his head. he was hungry, and the sound of his grumbling stomach only served as a proof."ramen." came jungkook's response, his eyes glued on his phone.
taehyung sauntered towards the younger one's cabinet, scanning it before pulling out a white, oversized shirt. they had almost the same proportions anyway, and jungkook didn't mind. the scent that taehyung would leave is his most prized possession.
"we're going out, then. let's eat ramen outside."
"but it's cold."
"hey, you've got me, kook! i can probably be your heater, or huggable bear, or whatever you'd like."jungkook finally glanced up from his phone, squinting at the male before him. he was already fully clothed.
"well, can you be my b--"tap.
tap.
tap."what..." jungkook was cut off by an unexplained noise coming from the kitchen, soon hearing taehyung's voice which sounded shaky. "did you hear that?" he averted his gaze towards jungkook's, and the two locked questioning gazes. taehyung brought a finger to his lips, mouthing a 'shush'. the noise continued.
tap.
tap.
tap.
it continued for a few more seconds, and the two only listened. as far as they could make out, it seemed as if someone was.. knocking at the window. the tapping paused. then resumed, faster this time. as the seconds turned into minutes, jungkook's wide eyes only opened themselves wider, a look of terror plastered onto his face as he thought of all the horrifying possibilities of how their night would end. murder? a haunting? cannibals? ghosts? demonic possessions?
only one plan came across his mind, and it took one glance and a nod from jungkook. "run!"
both males bolted up and out the dorm, with taehyung grabbing his wallet along the way and jungkook slamming the door shut. because of the strict curfew, the dorm would probably be closed by the time they would be able to return, but he didn't care. considering how much he had been suffering from paranormal experiences since he was a kid, it was normal for him to grow scared and develop paranoia.
they skidded across the halls and down a flight of stairs, and finally out of the main gates. they rested for a while, both of them panting and heaving deep breaths. it was tiring, and both hearts rang loudly in their ears as it couldn't seem to calm down from the sudden event.
jungkook, who had been wiping the cold sweat that beaded his forehead, flinched in surprise upon hearing taehyung's hearty laughter. it echoed across the streets, and jungkook could only stare at the male in front of him. judging by the way he carelessly laughed as if nothing happened, he must have been the one behind what had happened earlier.
jungkook was scared, but he wasn't dumb."yah, hyung-"
he held up a hand which, again, cuts jungkook off from his speech, slightly frustrating him. taehyung lets his laughter die down, before recomposing himself, wiping the tears that formed both corners of his eyes. he stood up straight, looking at jungkook in the eye.
"it was a prank."
