My cousins were interesting. I overheard Mother once comment that she thought they were strange, acting as if this was all a game. Mother certainly had her opinions. You might find it odd that I categorized my cousins. These were the quadruplets, my mother's older sister's children. My other cousin I kept to herself, in her own little group. Kinda funny, huh?Anyways, there were four of them, two boys and two girls. Although you'd never know they were siblings, all three of them looked so different.
There was the oldest girl, who liked to ignore me. She had black hair. She's the one with the fake pumpkin. Like most of her siblings, she was fond of black and red. She loved to read and do her makeup, the only one of the girls in my family who liked makeup, I think.
Her favorite author was Stephen King, I think. She liked H.P. Lovecraft too, though. She'd spend hours upon hours in our upstairs library, reading and playing with our attic pets. They weren't domesticated bats, but they did love to be held. Most everyone in the family liked them.
Her younger brother, the one with the brown hair, was the quietest out of the four. He barely even left his room. His mother had to almost force him to even drink anything. I never got to really ever talk to him, so I can't tell you as much about him. My apologies.
The second youngest, the other brother, was more outgoing. Although, like the rest of us, he wouldn't leave the house, he'd go everywhere inside it. If we were ever playing a game, he'd be the last one that was found. He's the one that showed us the old guillotine in back. I can't even tell you how much fun we had with that thing!
He never wanted to go outside. I know that as a fact. I didn't much either; I loved it here. And he loved teasing his little sister.
I'll talk about her next. She's the blonde one. She liked to cling to her mother, no matter what age she was. This was one of the reasons her older brother loved to tease her. She also loved to participate in any of her mother's rituals. I'll talk more about that later though. I never quite understood alchemy and dark magic, but it was pretty popular in our family. It also may be the reason only my mother actually had a husband.
Back to the youngest of the cousins, though. She loved to draw. And most of us loved watching her draw. Sometimes she did a picture of my sister holding a skull, or of my brother and his spider. But she loved to draw the trees int he garden, the ones with the weird shapes and knotted trunks. She thought those were the most fun things to draw.
I'd say each one of them was different. I couldn't tell you which I like better, since they all had their good parts. Although I wish I knew the second oldest more. I feel like I never ever met him.
