Silence in the room. Pens and pencils scratching at papers. Wide eyes stare at the test just handed out. Brains cranking out information. Tightly clenched hands scribbling numbers and letters and symbols. Feet softly walk to the front. Barely audible whispers are passed from teacher to pupil. A small plastic stick in hand, they walk out of the room. The door squeaking shut behind them. Check the time. 35 minutes? An audible sighs is heard. Silent sighs agree. Colorful posters, the hum or AC, you can't wait 'till you get out. The door squeaks open and shut. A shuffle of feet bring the plastic stick to its place. Another pair of shoes gets up. Taking the much used stick of plastic, the door squeaks again. Six crates full of spirals. Barely used, barely wanted. Check the time. 20 minutes? A louder sigh is heard. Another answers. Silent sighs agree. A pencil is set down. Your feet walk to the front. Your test is handed in. The door squeaks open then shut. Eyes dart back to their papers. The plastic stick is set back down. You walk to your desk. A quiet murmur of conversation float about the classroom. Check the time. 15 minutes? You sigh. Your friend chuckles in agreement. Reaching down, you get one of your barely used spirals and start to write.

Silence during tests
Give your test a confused look
