"Where did Erin come from?" Harry asked as he pushed into Louis' body. Louis squinted his eyes closed for a moment as that slight pain past until he managed to open them again.
His body jolted up and down as he spoke, but he didn't mind one bit. "He was on the streets-" He said, "-he killed both his parents at the age of three and was left on hi-"
"What, what?" Harry interrupted, pausing from any movement he was making on Louis' body.
Louis looked up at him, "What?" He asked back, "Oh, you mean the murder?" Harry nodded and Louis shook his head to stop any misunderstanding. "When he was three he caught cholera, and he gave it to both of his parents. They died from it, but somehow he survived."
Harry frowned, obviously in the same state of confusion Louis and Hanji were in about how Erin survived such a fatal disease. Louis ignored it and continued to say, "He was from the lowest of low-classes; a few pennies away from being on the streets actually, and when his parents died, the kid was left with nothing, not even a will had been made to his name. No one would pay for the orphanage so Erin was left there. Of course, he was only three so he doesn't remember much but he eventually ended up homeless." Louis spoke and Harry listened, pushing into the prostitute while watching his cheeks flush a light pink. "He met a woman who protected and loved him as if he was her only hope. But with the luck Erin has, she of course died too. She was struck by a carriage and died that very day. By that time, Erin was around the age of thirteen."
Louis let out a moan as Harry hit his spot but forced himself to continue. "He was so young and innocent that he was obviously an easy target for any riots so he learned self-defence. Then, not long ago actually, Liam found him. He was backed into the corner of a wall with a dagger in one hand and an apple in the other. He was surrounded by men who were calling him out for theft but he never backed down." Louis smiled and Harry hit that spot again making him whine and grab the sheets. "Liam stepped in and dragged him out of it. He saw Erin's face change to an innocent child's expression but as soon as they turned the corner Erin pulled that dagger out again. Over all, Liam must of said something to him, and I never knew what, but Erin followed him home that day."
Harry let out a pant of air and nodded. "He's a brave kid, he really is."
Louis nodded. He turned his head and the thoughts clouded his mind for a moment. He remembered the Erin he had first met, even though he'd tried to forget. He'd tried to block out that healthier boy because that's how he could bare to look at Erin now. His hair used to be a deep brown, but it had turned to a thin white. His eyes used to be lively and bright, but they had turned to a wide plain of empty green. His skin was once so radiant that it shone when the sun caught it but Louis was sure that now, even snow had more colour.
But most of all, he used to laugh so much and run so fast, but now he could barely walk a step without needing to catch his breath.
The Erin that Louis once knew had sunk into himself until that smile became forced. He always tried so hard to be happy that in the end, he didn't know how he felt anymore.
