"Katieeee, open mine first please" i smile as i push my - may i just say, perfectly decorated in double chinned Calum Hood pictures - gift box into her hands. She doesn't stop giggling until she opens the lid. I can see the excitement glistening in her eyes. Reece nervously peering over her shoulder.
"Worried that her best friend has got her a better birthday present than her boyfriend?" I stick my tongue out to which he mirrors me. She firstly takes out the Polaroid i have printed of us two holding hands at The Vamps concert 2 years ago in 2016.
"I remember this night like it was yesterday!" She then pulls out the joke book, my eyes instantly move to Reece and i raise my eyebrows.
"Oh gosh Adelaine! No. I remember those DM's! Don't even think about trying it again Katie."
"It worked though didnt it?" She's not wrong, its those jokes that brought those two even closer.
The final present was a gift card of £100 to spend anywhere she likes.
"Thankyou so much Adelaine, that Polaroid is going straight up in my room when we get home" i give her a quick hug and sit back as she opens everyone else's gifts.
"Blake, come help me grab the duvets and pillows please" i whisper. "Be back in a second" i state to the others.

Blake and I are on one half of the corner sofa, Reece and Katie on the other half and Lucie and George are on the cuddle chair.
"What film we watching?" Lucie pops up from beneath the duvet. Trust me when i say it's cold. The heating isnt working so we've paired up for cuddles.
Blake and I instantly lock eyes and shout in sync, "TOY STORY!"
"You're so childish" Katie teases.
"Says you with your 'paw patrol' addiction"
"Okay, okay, you got me" her arms fly up in surrender.
I push the disk in and start the movie, running back to the duvet. Lily is already in bed by this time.

Halfway through the movie, my thoughts wonder to the past 2 years. From being in LA with all of my best friends to the day of my mother's funeral. My mind had been all over recently and i feel as though i have the best boyfriend in the room. He's been through all of my hard and stressy times and he's still stuck close by my side. No sign of Jake too, maybe he's got the hint that i don't want him anymore. Lily is now in secondary school. My mother was my solid ground through those 4 years of my life, especially year 11 with exams as such, i intend to be that motherly figure for her. With Katie and Blake being my closest best friends, it's made the past 2 years bareable.
"Adelaine? Adelaine?" Blake waves his hand infront of my face. "Adelaine? You missed the train part, George's favourite" he earns a pillow being thrown at him.
"It's not my fault they're great" George retaliates.
"It's not my fault they're always lat-"
"Boys, calm down, i'm trying to find the pizza place's number and i can't concentrate with your train rants going on" they both stare at me in silence.
