“Darce, we’re here. Darcy?” Darcy quickly snapped her head over to look at Ross. He had already gotten out of the car and walked around to open her door. He stared at her curiously. “Are you okay?” he asked. She attempted a reassuring smile. Of course she wasn’t okay. She’d been zoning out like that a lot over the past few days. Ever since that meeting with Sean where he’d… She quickly pushed the thoughts from her mind. This was no time to worry; she had a job to do. She hopped out of the car and stood next to him on the sidewalk. “I’m fine. Just a little nervous. I hope Laura isn’t mad. You know…about the trend thing.” She said quietly. Ross shook his head as he laced his fingers through hers. “She’s not. I talked to her a few days ago. She understands. But remember…she does think we’re together so just be careful what you two talk about.” He instructed. She nodded as she followed him across the set parking lot. Following the Twitter incident a week prior, Sean had instructed Ross to take Darcy to the Austin & Allyset as a way of showing the fans that she was on good terms with Laura. Darcy felt her stomach knot up just thinking about Sean. She hadn’t told anyone about what had happened in his office. She didn’t know who to tell. She didn’t know what to tell them. Would they even believe her? Would they take her word, a girl they’d only known for a few months, over the word of a man they’d trusted the band with for years? She didn’t really have any proof that he’d grabbed her; he hadn’t exactly left any marks. It wasn’t like he’d slapped or punched her, something that would leave a trace. She almost wished he had. It would give her solid proof that something had indeed happened. Until that day came, and hopefully it never would, there wasn’t much she could do. She felt the cool breeze hit her as she stepped through the doors of the Austin & Ally studio. It was her first time visiting Ross on set. She’d met Laura a few times at different events and parties the Lynch family had held, but she hadn’t met any of his other cast mates. She was a bit worried about being able to convince them that she and Ross were in love. Sure, they’d convinced Laura. But that had been before everything with Sean. Back when she had taken a casual approach to the ‘job’. Now, she felt as though her life depended on her giving a stellar performance as Ross’s ‘girlfriend’. Ross seemed to sense that she was more nervous than usual. “Relax, it’s just like every other time.” He whispered in her ear. She nodded and quickly forced a reassuring smile. “Ross!” she heard a female voice call from across the room. Ross quickly whirled around, tugging at Darcy’s hand so that she turned around with him. Laura was approaching from the opposite side of the set. She smiled happily when she noticed Darcy standing beside him. “Darcy! I didn’t know you were coming today!” she said excitedly. Darcy smiled as well as Laura wrapped her into a quick hug. “It was Ross’s idea. You know, after the whole Twitter thing.” She explained. Laura nodded and rolled her eyes. “I saw that. Completely stupid. But you’re right, Ross. I think it’s a great idea. By the way…you’re filming with Calum first today. They’re waiting for you in wardrobe.” She gestured in the direction she’d just come from. “Darcy can hang with me until you’re finished. I’ll just be roaming around.” Ross nodded and leaned over to quickly kiss Darcy’s lips. “I’ll find you later. Love you!” he called as he jogged in the direction Laura had indicated. “I love you too.” Darcy said quietly as he departed. It was the first time he’d actually said ‘I love you’ and, as with everything in her ‘relationship’ with Ross, she felt nothing. She smiled wryly. Of course the first guy to ever tell her he loved her would be acting. She quickly turned to face Laura. “So…where to?” she questioned. Laura looped her arm through hers and began walking in the opposite direction Ross had gone. “To find Raini; I need to introduce you. Ross can introduce you to Calum later.” They walked in silence for a few moments. “And can I just say…” Laura spoke up suddenly. “I’ve never seen Ross as happy as I’ve seen him with you.” She commented, smiling warmly at Darcy. Darcy smiled in return as Laura continued leading her down different hallways and corridors. If only Laura could see the other side of ‘Rarcy’. Her side. She wouldn’t think it was nearly as adorable if she did.
