Can't Turn Back

Chapter 1: Moving In

   "What a beauty!" I said as I looked at our new huge house. When the car came to a stop, Dan jumped out of the car. He was the first one to go inside the house. "How could we ever afford this!?" Dan asked my parents while he was admiring everything. It was a good thing that my dad phoned the house service to bring most of the things over to the house in advance or we would be unpacking everything until night! "Okay kids," dad said as he was carrying the suitcases into the house. He just stared at us then said, "I want you to know that you are not allowed to wander out of the house because you might get lost wandering out there, I have also heard that the last owners disappeared" he sounded serious. But Dan and I just started laughing hysterically because there was no way we would believe that nonsense! "Mom, where is my bedroom?" I asked. "Oh, just go upstairs then the first room to the left is yours," my mom told me. I never knew my mom was that good at directing people! When I got in my room I admired every single detail. There was a small blue circle clock, a big luxurious bed and many things rich people could afford but the weird thing was that I didn't remember anything in my room. After hours of doing random things, I didn't realize that it was night!  My brother's room was just across my room so I ran across the hall. My brother was reading his all time favorite book "Nancy Drew"! "Soo...wanna go out now to wander about?" I asked with curiosity. "I thought dad said that we shouldn't be going out in the dark at night!" He said in a serious manner. He was the obedient one but I really didn't care.
