Maddy's POV

"Hold me closer tiny dancerrrrrrr" I belch out on the way to Target to get dresses.

Heath smile at me as turn the music up higher.

"count the headlights on the highwaaaaaay" I continue to sing although I see Heath shoving the camera in my face.

We pull into the target parking lot and I grab my purse and we walk in. I didn't take long to find a few dresses that will cover my thighs. We walk to the check out stand.

"Oh snickers!" Heath says as he throws a snickers on top of my pile of dresses. I just smile and rolled my eyes.

"So guys, we are at target now, Maddy wanted to buy dresses. Tonight we are going to the club with Zane." Heath spoke into the lens of the camera.

"I can't dance. So just know I am lying if I blame the alcohol for my lack of dancing skills." I said as I poked my head near Heath's so I was in frame.

Heath kept talking to the camera as I walked up to the cashier to pay for everything. We walked out to the truck which Heath parked in the back of the store.

"Heath, why did you park in the back of the store. It's kinda creepy." I joked as we turned the corner.

"Actually boo boo, I parked back here so you can change without anyone seeing you and you can get out of those sweats. Go ahead and do your thing I'll just be on look out for anyone." He said as he turned his back away from the truck.

That was nice of him. I jumped in the truck and opened the target bag. I pulled out a red spaghetti strap dress that go down to my knees covering the marks from the night we don't remember. I slipped my shoes back on and opened the door and told Heath I was done. I stepped out of the truck to readjust the dress since it was difficult to change while sitting down.

"Damn girl. Look at you." Heath says as his eyes get glued to my body.

I felt myself blush as I turned in a circle showing off the dress. I noticed Heath had the camera on me. I pretended I didn't notice and kept modeling the dress.

"Let's take a picture for Snapchat and the gram." He said as he walks over to me with his phone in hand now. He wraps his arm around me and smiles. I looked up at him and got lost in his eyes. I never noticed how beautiful brown eyes can be.

"Maddy." Heath said snapping me out of it.

"Uhm yeah. what?"  I said embarrassed.

"You good?" He smiled as he stared to deeply into my eyes.

"Mhmm" I finally am able to force out.

We stood there for what seemed like forever just looking into each others eyes when we heard a horn honking. I looked at the car quickly.

"HEY" The driver yells as the come closer to us. "You guys are sure getting close aren't you?" He said as he stopped his car right by us. The door opens to Zane jumping out.

"God damn it Zane. I thought I was going to have to kick someones ass." Heath yelled at Zane. Making Zane and I giggle.

"Does Elton not know about this yet?" Zane asked as he leaned against the hood of his car.

"Know about what?" Heath asked as he realized his arm was still around me and he slowly pulled it away trying to not be noticeable about it.

"Come on. When I pulled up you guys were staring at each other and smiling all dumb and I sat there for 5 minutes before I had to put an end to it. There is something going on more than a drunken night." Zane laughed as I felt my face burn in embarrassment.

Right then Heath's phone began to ring. "It's my mom ill be right back" He said as he walked to his truck and went and sat down inside it.

"Look, Zane. I haven't talked to Elton yet because Heath and I haven't talked about this yet. This is my second day here who knows if the feelings are even mutual or even real." I concede to Zane.

"Mad. I have never seen Heath like this. I know my boy. The feelings are mutual. You need to talk to Elton before things become more serious and someone gets hurts." Zane encouraged.

"Can you find a way to distract Heath at home so I can call ElTee?" I asked reluctantly. Zane nodded his head. He didn't say anything and just jumped back into his car and drove away. I stood where I was leaving Heath to talk to his mom in private.  Soon Heath walked back over and said we can go home now.

I don't want to go home. I know when I get home I need to tell my brother everything.

On the drive home I was thinking of ways to tell Elton I have feelings for Heath. I am definitely going to leave the drunken night part out. Soon we reached home.

"You okay? You were really quiet on the drive." Heath says as he turns the truck off.

"Yeah I'm okay. I just realized the whole moving to California way from the state I was born and raised in thing is actual reality." I said was I unbuckled my seat belt.

"You are going to be okay I promise. Do you want the pool house to yourself for a minute to collect your thoughts?" He asked me. Perfect. I can call Elton without any worry.

"Yeah, I would love that actually. Thank you Heath." I smiled at him and jumped out of the truck.

"You're welcome. Come find me when you are ready to go to the club." Heath said with a precious smile.

I walked into the pool house and locked the door behind me to make sure I have no interruptions. I pulled my phone out and opened Elton's contact. I sat there with my thumb dancing back and forth over the call button. I finally hit the call button and took a gulp of air before he answered.

"Hey sis. Everything okay?" Elton gleefully answered.

"I need to talk to you. Please don't freak out." I restlessly spoke.

"What happened? Who did what?" He spoke sharply.

"Look, I am not going to beat around the bush. I have feelings for Heath and I think he has feelings for me too and I would really appreciate it if you let me test the waters with him and see if there is any chemistry with me and him." I was talking to rapidly I hope he was able to understand what I had said because there is no way I was going to be able to say it again.

Later that night: At the bar

"Maddy! Come outside with me!" Heath yelled in my ear so that I could hear him over the music.

I nodded my head and grabbed my drink and purse and grabbed his hand so he can lead me out to the balcony. We approached the doors and the smell of the fresh air hit me. Heath let go of my hand once we got through the doors. He walked over to the railing and reached in his pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. He pulled two out and used his lighter to lite them both at the same time. He handed me one and then leaned over the railing watching as the cars drove past and the drunk people leaving the bar jump into taxis and Ubers on the streets below.

"Are you having a good night?" He asked. He looked at me as if he genuinely cared. I smiled at him and didn't say anything. Once again we caught ourselves in this stare down. But you know, in a good way. Time felt like it had gone slow motion except everything and everyone around us had completely stopped and went silent. It was just Heath and I standing on a balcony at this bar looking into each other eyes. I have never felt more at piece. In the back of my mind i was telling myself to snap out of it. Heath was probably talking to me and I'm just starring at him. I began to panic a little bit.

I kept telling myself "Snap the fuck out of it Madison." But I couldn't.
