Noise

Tonight, when I lie in bed, I'll close my eyes.
I will smile as I imagine you by my side.
I will hold my breath before letting go of a sigh.
I will die in dreams until I wake up to life.
I will swim in darkness until I get to see the light.
I will hear your voice telling tales in the night.
I will feel the wind messing with my hair as well as the grass beneath my feet.
And I will wonder why is it this easy to let go and sink and what it was like to feel.
Because feelings left me the same way you did, and now it feels hard to breathe.
Water falls as it smashes into the ground, but you can only hear it if the world is silent enough.
The birds on the branches start their flight, and my loneliness increases as their sillouettes disappear in the sky.

BAM.

You hear the unstoppable beating of your heart.

BAM.

You start worrying if it will hurt when it's time is done.

BAM.

Seems surreal to think we all are just a bunch of flesh and bone.

And then, suddenly, there is nothing to hear.
Perhaps it's just that the world is silent, the birds are gone, the water has stopped.
Perhaps.
But perhaps it's your heart the one who has stopped its song.
