*Destinee

It’s been about a week since seeing Darren at Mercedes apartment and I just needed to see him again. His hold on me is truly unreal. One minute were cool the next we argue over something petty, but no matter what he stays around because of Armani. He may have been my first love, kiss, boyfriend, and father of my child, but he will always remain Armani’s father for a life time.

I pulled up to Darren’s condo with Armani sitting in the backseat playing with her Barbie dolls a huge smile crept upon her face once she realized I was looking back at her.

“Mommy I’m really humgry” She complained as she attempted to unbuckle her seatbelt and after a few attempts finally managed to release herself from her booster seat.

“Maybe daddy can get you something to eat?” I suggested as got out of the driver seat of my four door 2010 Toyota Camry, scooped Armani up from her booster seat into my arms and grabbed her overnight bag as well and headed to Darren’s front door and rung the doorbell. Five minutes later Darren answered shirtless showing off every inch of his chiseled flat abs and I couldn’t help, but stare really hard. I haven’t had anyone sexually since the birth of Armani and nothing satisfied my urges more than having the real thing. I knocked myself out of my trance as I gathered my thoughts.

“Uhh can you watch Armani tonight? Sal called me in for work and I can’t let him down.” I finally mustered up the words to say after a few moments of being speechless.

“Sure. I’d love to take my little princess tonight.” He spoke as she reached for Armani and took her from my arms. She instantly lit up with excitement as he held her and she lay silently on his chest. It was a beautiful sight to watch the two of them. He was so perfect and gentle with her. I kissed Armani goodbye as I waved she returned the gesture with a grin.

“I’ll be back tonight princess.” I cooed as I headed back in the direction of my car. I have exactly one hour to get to work I thought aloud as I started up the ignition and headed to Prestige Boutique. With rush hour traffic on the freeway I made it exactly ten minutes early. I rushed inside the swinging glass doors as ran my fingers through my curly dark brown hair. One of my good friends, Michelle greeted me with a hug as I entered.

“Destinee! Do I have a story for you!” She exclaimed as she dragged me over to the near by registers and looked around to make sure nobody was within earshot of our conversation.

“Hello to you too Michelle, but what’s the juicy gossip?” I asked as I looked down at my watch seeing I have five minutes to clock in.

“They fired Darla that’s why they needed you to come in today. I don’t think they are going to hire anyone new either so that’s more money for us girl these kids don’t feed themselves.” She let out in what seemed like one quick breath.

“Let me clock in before I get fired too.” I said as I headed over to the employee clock in station on the back corner wall. Once clocked in I joined Michelle at the checkout registers once more.

“Do you want me to do stock?” I asked her as she rummaged through a fashion magazine and looked up at me.

“Sure.” She finally spoke as she turned the next page. It was crazy how one moment Michelle went from a chatty Cathay to a cool, calm, and collected woman. I admired that about her most though she knew how to hold a job down and party with the best of them too.

As I was folding all the clothes on the display racks Sal came from the back of the store with a goofy grin.

“Just the lady I wanted to see. Can you follow me to my office?” He asked with a sincere smile. My stomach felt as though it was going to drop at the anticipation of what was going to happen next. Darla got fired was I going to be next? I questioned internally as we proceeded through the doors of his office and he motioned for me to take a seat which I quickly obliged.
