Determination; Something he shouldn't have.

The lights suddenly turned on and I felt my eyes burning, I opened them slowly and saw my girlfriend standing at my door with her hands on her hips. Her expression unreadable. I smiled weakly and then looked at the clock, it was already eleven in the morning.

Scratching my stomach, I sat up and swung my legs off of my bed, then stood up to greet her but she turned away and walked towards the kitchen. I figured that I should wash myself up first before talking to her, she must be angry about that...

I entered my bathroom and splashed cold water on my face, then I walked inside my shower and started washing my hair.

When I got out of the bathroom, I smelled food so I hurriedly went to the dining room only to see eggs and bacon with toast on a plate.

"Here." she said as she placed a cup of hot coffee on the table.

"Look, I'm really sorry about yesterday.. I really didn't remember, I know I said i'll leave early but everything reall--"

"Don't explain, Harry."

Last night after I had told Ella about my color blindess, everything seemed to change. Her eyes stopped glaring at me, I think she felt pity towards me. But I had told her not to worry about it; I was never offended in any way. We walked together until the crowd disappeared. We had reached the riverside, then she kept asking me questions about my condition and I just answered her. I lost track of time and forgot to pick her up.

"You can't see any colors?"

"Yes, Ella," I sighed. "That's why it's called color blindness."

"I know, but other color blind people can see red or green."

"I'm completely color blind, Ella."

"Sorry."

"No need to be."

I looked at her back as she washed the dishes, her hair tied up in a bun, "I'm really sorry."

When I finised my breakfast, I walked towards her and wrapped my arms around her, she resisted at first but then relaxed when she realized that I wasn't letting her go. But something felt weird, I smelt Ella's perfume.

"Did you change your perfume?" I asked her.

"No," she said as she finished up washing the last of the dishes. "It's still the same."

"But--"

"You smell different, Harry."

--

My girlfriend and I decided to just hang out in my apartment since she brought dvd's and microwave popcorn with her, I sat down on the sofa while she loaded the cd player, then she ran back to me after pressing play.

"You really smell different, Harry," she said as she snuggled closer to me. "You smell feminine."

"I don't know, must be the soap." I lied.

"But you never change your brand right?"

I shook my head and turned it towards the television where the movie started, I may have looked like it, but I couldn't really focus on the movie. I kept thinking about Ella's scent, is it me who smells like her? Not her?

The movie finished after two and a half hours, I stood up and stretched my arms when I heard the door bell ring. My girlfriend shot her head up and looked at the door, she was going to stand up when I pushed her back down and smiled.

"I'll get it."

I ran towards the door and saw Ella, she was looking down and fidgeting with her hands.

"Ella?"

"Who is it Harry?" I saw my girlfriend's face turn into a frown of confusion. "Oh... this is Ella, Louis's sister."

"Sister..?"

Ella blinked and then looked back down. "Y-yes."

My girlfriend let out a forced smile, I knew she was going to take this the wrong way.

"Can I talk to Harry for a while?" Ella asked, keeping her gaze on me.

"U-uh sure."

I think my girlfriend found it very rude but I found Ella's bluntness very cute, I wore my outdoor slippers and went out as I closed the door behind me, "What is it you want to talk about?"

"Let me paint you..."

"What?"

"Let me paint your eyes, Harry."
