Love's a work of art.

Ella had asked me to meet her again the next day. Apparently, she needed to paint my eyes on a different angle. It really had intrigued me when she came to my house that day out of the blue to tell me she wanted to paint my eyes. As far as I knew they were normal, like any other. So why had mine sparked any interest? I never questioned it, nor did I really talk about it with anybody.

We had set a date to do it Saturday since we were both free, I had briefly discussed the last session with Emily so she wouldn't suspect anything. Which there was nothing to suspect in the first place.

I had already pulled up to Ella's studio and was walking up the stairs when my phone began to beep indicating I had a text message. It was a text from Emily asking me to meet up with her.

To: Emily

I can't right now, i'm really sorry. I already have plans with Ella.

I sighed knowing that my text message to her would cause some kind of fuss. But I didn't see any harm in denying plans with Emily. Ella and I had planned this ahead of time; it was strictly for Ella's work. Emily should know that, in her line of work she's working with guys 24/7. I couldn't help but not feel guilty for turning down Emily's plans because as far as I was concerned, I was doing nothing wrong.

From Emily:

Plans for what? So she's more important than me now? Are you cheating on me Harry?

She was being ridiculously jealous again, I couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed.

To Emily:

It's because I already agreed on meeting her today and I can't go back on my words. And no I am not cheating on you.

I waited for her reply but I didn't get any, she much be angry again. I needed to fix this later. Sighing, I went on my way to Ella's door and knocked on it.

No answer.

Knocking again I heard a faint yell.

"The door's open!"

I opened the door and saw Ella on a ladder hanging up one of her paintings. I could see she was struggling a bit because of her height so I walked up to her.

"I'll do it."

"No, it's fine. I can do this!" She huffed.

"How many hours have you been doing this?" I asked rolling my eyes, a small smile on my lips.

"Two."

"Exactly, get down here."

I saw her pout so I patted her head and then climbed up the ladder to hang her two paintings side by side. I also hung about five more on the other wall and finished everything up in less than ten minutes.

I stood on the ladder and admired all her paintings. I sighed a bit as I continued looking around seeing nothing but the same dull color I was forced to live with.

"Thanks." Ella said softly. I jumped slightly not realizing that she was not standing beside me. Looking down at her small figure I noticed her hair was up in a high bun.

"You tied your hair today." Climbing down the ladder I reached to the ground and smiled at her.

"Yes... I did." she laughed slightly, looking down. I could have sworn her cheeks had turned red.

--

I sat down on the high stool again and this time I was facing the side instead of facing her, I kept on glancing at Ella from the side to see what she was doing.

"Where's the first painting? I never got to see it."

"You'll see it when everything's finished."

My phone began ringing from the inside of my pocket. I hurried and grabbed it looking at the screen, saying a quick sorry to Ella.

"Emily, I thought I told yo--"

"If you don't meet me right now, then we're over."

"What are you talking about?!" I held the phone closer to my ear and turned my back against Ella.

"Harry, I'm serious."

"Emily--"

"Are you with her right now?"

"Yes but you're not making any se--"

I looked at my phone slightly shocked, she had ended the call.

"Are you okay?" Ella asked.

I quickly got up and fumbled to put my phone in my pocket.

"I'm sorry Ella, I have to go."

She nodded at me as she wiped her hands with a rag and then smiled, "I hope everything turns out fine for you Harry."

✘I'm so sorry for the long awaited update! I was really busy all this week because of Christmas and such! I wanted to upload this on Christmas as a lame present to you all but I sadly didn't finish it in time. MERRY BELATED CHRISTMAS ALL!

I wanted to say a big, BIG thank you to all the readers and people who have liked and commented on this story.

It seriously means so much to me. I love you guys all!

Also, for some of the confusion this is a "short story."(a story with a fully developed theme but significantly shorter and less elaborate than a novel.)

So it will seem a bit choppy and slightly confusing. I am sorry for that. (I was never good at writing full blown stories)

there are only a few more chapters left in this story but there might be some twists!

I also have a Niall story I am thinking about starting after I finish this.

But anyways, thank you all SO much!

I'm sorry this chapter was a bit boring.

Happy almost New Year!!
