Chapter 2

There Is No Home.

We now waited to be called in when Eli stepped closer to me, he put his hand lightly on to my arm and his mouth near my right ear and whispered.

"Keep your head down, don't say and don't anything stupid you got it."

I nodded slowly and Eli quickly stepped back.

I slowly opened the door...

"This is your mess. This is your fault.  You failed to listen to the order been given and what happens to those who fail?" Jackson asked with a smile.

"They will be punished" I muttered looking to the ground.

"Ahhh that's right they will be punished." He said with the same smile fixed on his face.

"But, but I made a mistake" I lie "It must have been another man that looked like him that saw us" I mentally slap myself; I mean honestly who would fall for that, think Clara think.

He knew I had lied, I could see it in the old man's eyes.

"If you want to be one of us you will do as I say" Jackson bellowed completely ignoring my last comment.

"But I don't want to be like you, I never did, your killers, you kidnap people and try to turn them into ruthless, cold blooded murders. What I want, what I really really want is to go home, but I don't have a choice do I?" I snap. As soon as the words came out my mouth I immediately regret them.

"Home? Home? Have you already forgotten lesson number one. THERE.IS.NO. HOME. Or do I have to make that clearer, maybe I have to pay a visit to mommy dearest, would you like me to pay Miss Thyme or shall I say the soon to be Mrs Ryder a little visit " The old man said with a smile.

That bastard. He had done a background check on my family. Oh my god. No he couldn't hurt my mother.

I shook my head.

"No p.p.please no, I didn't mean it" I whispered, holding tears.

I looked down again, I couldn't trust myself, if I said the wrong thing; he would kill my family. Why the hell did I have to mention home.

"Put her in a cell next to the idiot she brought in" the old man said to Eli.

I forgot he was even standing there.

Eli fingers grabbed my upper arm firmly.  He didn't want to do this that much I knew, but like me he didn't really have a choice.  He didn't even have to tell me. I just knew.

We made it down to the cells. I let the tears fall and silently sobbed.

"Shhh it's going to be ok. Whatever he does I won't let him hurt you." Eli whispered softly.

"It's going to be okay I promise."  He said with a tight smile.
